I Didn’t Even Want a Cat
March Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Pet People”
The balm my broken heart needed.
As highly sensitive people, pets have always meant a lot to me and my daughters, but I never wanted a cat. I only agreed to cats because the kids wanted them so badly. So when our cat, Malia, was hit by a car I grieved far harder than I expected to.
I didn’t want to replace Malia — she’d been so special — but my girls were very convincing. And so we welcomed little Luna into our family.
With her sweet playful nature and the silkiest fur I’ve ever felt, Luna made us laugh, gave us snuggles, and helped our hearts to heal.
