I Created a Print Book Cover Using Kindle Cover Creator
Are you thinking about creating a print version of your Kindle book?

My new, soon-to-be-released sea story collection is just a small digital book that provides light reading. So I actually surprised myself when I decided to also have it published as a paperback book.
As of the first of August (2022), both versions should be published and ready for readers to start enjoying.
Being reminded about how challenging the whole self publishing process can be, I wanted to share a bit of information with new and soon to be authors.
If you decide to create a print version of your current or soon to be published digital book, there is something you need to know before you do.
While you can probably use the exact same image that you used for the digital book, you will probably have to make some kind of adjustments.
To show you what I mean, notice the image below, for my new Tails of the Mermaids short story collection.

Why I chose to use Kindle Cover Creator to generate the above book cover for my print book.
If I had not selected the Kindle Cover Creator, creating a print cover would have been a bit of a hassle (I know from past experience).
- I would have needed to determine the proper dimensions, so that the ONE image cover included both the front cover and also the text and photo I wanted on the back jacket.
- Besides getting the calculations down correctly, to create a book cover that contains a front and back view of the book, I would have also had to deal with calculating the width of the spine for the book.
By choosing the book creator generator like I did, all I had to do was upload the digital book image that I already had. I made a small adjustment right there on the KDP platform, so it fit the page properly.
Then I simply selected the formatting style I wanted for the book reviews and other text, located on the back jacket. That was basically it. I saved the results when I was done and proceeded with the publishing process.
Bada bing! Bada bang!
All that’s left, is for Amazon to magically stick their generated barcode on the lower part of the page, before they print my books.
Why not give the Kindle Cover Creator a try?
If this information is making you think about using the Kindle Cover Creator, I say, why not give it a try? You can always fool around with it, and if you don’t like the results for some reason, just discard everything and any changes won’t even be saved.
It’s definitely worth checking out.
Thanks to the Kindle Book Creator, I was able to publish some of the favorable comments about my book, right on the back cover (in yellow text).
The quotes were taken from t Medium writers Robin Christine Honigsberg and Denise Shelton and here’s what they had to say:
“Riveting, compelling and enthralling, I couldn’t put the book down!”
The author creates vivid imagery of the history of mermaids and where they lived, and their societal rules. Underlying themes include love, friendship, and family that can be applied to your modern-day life; the stories bring us from the beginning of mermaid’s lives to the beginning of the next generation. Riveting, compelling and enthralling, I couldn’t put the book down! I was drawn into a different world in the ocean depths, and I felt safe despite a severe phobia of sharks!
Robin Christine Honigsberg (Medium author of: “Lost Luggage”)
“Charming story of the friendship of between a young girl and a mermaid.”
Good action sequences…Charming story of the friendship between a young girl and a mermaid
Denise Shelton (Medium author of: The Meteoric Rise and Fall of 19th-Century Spiderwoman Lola Montez)
Final Thoughts
If you visit my Amazon Author page, you’ll see that the KDP version of the book can be bought and read online, on a variety of different devices.
However, the print version; which is a 79-page short paperback book, is also available for purchasing, but this book you can actually hold in your hand, once they ship it to you and you receive in the mail.
I thank everyone on Medium, who was responsible in some way, for inspiring me to compile and publish this short story collection.
So now, I encourage everyone to pop over to Amazon (especially before or on July 31st) and purchase a copy of my book — either the $2.99 digital version, or the $6.99 print version.
I believe you’ll enjoy reading it, and I’d welcome more reviews, this time on Amazon.
