I Couldn’t Take it Anymore!
I needed a break.

A couple of Sundays ago, I decided that I had it with sitting around the house every day. I have been quite good during this pandemic — my dad is considered high risk, and I don’t want anything to happen to him. Since late June or early July, I have only been to the grocery store, bank, wine store, recycle drop-off, and my storage unit — always with a mask. Before that, I was home.
So, on that Sunday, I came downstairs and found a text from my dad that said, “I’m going to take a ride.” I had to laugh! I replied with, “Me too.” I got in my car and drove to the Natchez Trace Parkway entrance off Route 96 in Franklin, TN. The Natchez Trace Parkway is a scenic highway that runs through three states (AL, MS, TN). I enjoy driving it. It also has camping, hiking, and picnicking.

I pulled into Timberland Park, one of the many parks along the parkway, and parked my car. I just sat there for a few minutes, enjoying the sight. Then I got out and walked to a lovely, old wooden swing. It was delightful! The day was hot but there was a breeze while swinging.
The other place I stopped was the Highland Rim Section of the Natchez Trace Parkway. There was no one in sight as I started the trail. I didn’t walk very far for that reason and because I’m out of shape. (No comments from the peanut gallery needed!) It was beautiful to me!
The following photos were all taken at this park.

The afternoon was getting late, so I reluctantly got back in my car and drove home. I was feeling much better and felt like I could last for a few weeks!

Let me introduce myself.
