I Chose to Be a Friend of Medium
I don’t Necessarily Take the Money into Account, I Want to Support this Community and Learn to Become Better at Things
So… I had a $5 subscription to Medium for a while and I decided to advance a bit…to become a Friend of Medium. I didn’t necessarily think about advantages, money, or other material things, but about the fact that I want to support this community, other writers and people I read with great pleasure, those at the beginning of their writing career and so much more. I thought of this as a cool adventure.
But remember, I’m paying for this. It’s not like I’m doing it for free. And I want this adventure to be a special one, strangely beautiful, and to continue from now on.
Perhaps some might question why I decided to invest in a $15 subscription to this platform, instead of using the money for something else. The reason is simple: I want to show my support for this community. Since joining in late October, I’ve been delighted to see the diverse and engaged individuals here, and the way we share ideas and opinions, and read thought-provoking articles.
So it’s not like I could get rich with the $15. On the flip side, I understand that for certain individuals, it represents a significant amount of money that they are unable to afford. This money could be used to bring them a small amount of joy or I don’t know, pay a bill or something else. In my case, I could have done something else with this money, yes, although I have a lot of financial problems. But you know, too personal and too off-topic.
It’s important to consider the reasons behind your actions and decisions, as well as having a clear understanding of your intentions and plans for the next steps, like this one — supporting this amazing community! I will definitely not regret it. Besides that, I plan to write at least one article a day and do this until I start to get bored. Just kidding with the “ get bored” part. But of course, this means dedication and consistency, and as usual, I’ll try to do my best and not disappoint myself.
And once again I want to thank everyone who reads my nonsense, who encourages me, and who inspires me every single day. Every clap and comment means a lot to me, more than you think! Cheers!🍹
