I chose these 3 platforms to generate traffic to my Medium page.
I am sharing my experience and progress through trial and error on how to generate traffic and readership to my Medium Stories.
If you are looking for definitive answers on how to expand your readership for your writing, I have to try this first and keep you posted on how its going.
I have a particular set of experiences and actions that I am going to post in my proactive pursuit to be a successful writer and blogger.
Although I am a new writer on Medium, I am on the hustle to build my audience in a timeframe of goals that I have set for myself. I’ve managed to slowly start my momentum in my first month of writing and posting on this platform.
This is a screenshot of my personal lifetime earnings on Medium as of 1/22/24.
I started looking at other successful writers on Medium and the their experiences in using other social media sites. I had the pleasure of speaking with
Bin Jiang briefly speaking on his traffic coming from X.
I read Zulie Rane and her article to pick 2 platforms to focus on using to expand readership
and I’ve also had the pleasure of briefly speaking with and learning from James Julian and his Youtube channel on his experiences in medium and Youtube earnings
X
I noticed a lot of athletes and topics I am interested in have accounts here. I’m curious to build an audience on X while also learning how to navigate through a new social media platform.
I’ve discovered X also has a paid partner program with its specific set of requirements.
I have watched so many videos in blogging and writing online that recommend and suggest using this platform. Many bloggers mentioned using Pinterest for your own website than their Medium page.
I also saw a statistic of Pinterest being 76% women and it mainly being used to promote cosmetic products, woman's fashion, and cooking recipes.
My writing topics and knowledge have little to no experience or relevance in any of these niches.
Normally people would think to get into a platform or place where your community is to generate traffic
or
to compete in those niches where the bulk of those groups are.
I could be wrong in my thinking but
I’m looking at this as an opportunity rather than a deterrent.
I see low competition in Pinterest for the things I am trying to promote and develop in my writing. I also see an opportunity for a market for women to possibly buy or read of something for their male partners if they have one, and I have the general experience and knowledge in writing and sharing on this platform.
Youtube was originally how I found Medium. I saw a few years ago Zulie Rane continuing to publish videos on her experiences and tutorials of how to operate and develop your skills as a writer.
I also saw that Youtube also has a Partner Program with a specific set of requirements to also bring in another stream of income.
I appreciate many of the successful writers on this platform using Youtube to educate and promote how to write and expand readership on medium. I decided to make my own sharing my experiences and progress.
