Abstract

iece is important. Being rejected — not disappointed at all. I see the piece needs more information. Taking the waiting time as the opportunity to have fresh eyes to read my writing again. I don’t get disappointed. I say, hey, hey, hey, I found there is more to say. If the piece is worth it. And yes, it is. I was optimistic when I got the draft back, despite the result. I am still optimistic about the idea and the complete piece.

I see the entire piece when it’s done. So, yes, I can edit! I Choose This Piece Because It’s Important

Yes, I can edit

After receiving unsuccessful trials, I began to see clearly where to head to.

There are about 9 small drafts, ideas.

I currently only focus on one draft, which was initially returned by an editor like several other drafts. I’ve been adding words and a few study results to only one piece.

Why am I editing the piece?

Because I think it’s right to do. I feel positive about it. The story includes my personal history. The word history may be too big, but my personal experience adds additional value to what I’m trying to explain and tell in the writing.

Sharing my experience is not just emotionally doing good to me, but also crucial to the point of the story. To the readers, especially those who are not familiar with the topic.

I see the piece is important.

It is all about my positive attitude and belief in the piece I’m editing.

What I see in this piece is that it has a greater mission, so I want to accomplish it. Not just satisfy me. Not just fulfilling my ego of being able to help other workers at my previous workplace. I see the piece has great potential of being able to help other writers. And I see the piece has great potential of being able to help others using keyboards.

These are the reasons I’ve been spending my time on editing one draft right now. The piece is nearly 2,000 words. When I feel it’s done, I will send it to the editor. If I need to edit more, I will. When I think it’s done, yes, it’s my call.

When there is a purpose to it. I can keep it running. Provide information to strengthen the main idea(s). I feel great adding more words to it. I feel great adding more words to it. It is rather smooth and less painful.

It is a great feeling when I realize that I have choices to whether to let my pieces go, combine them, or not to do anything at all. When I can objectively see that I get to choose this one to edit, I feel awesome.

Write something fun, don’t get too hung up on how things sound or the formatting, release your inner thoughts, enter into ‘the zone’ and let your fingers do the talking.

It doesn’t have to be good, you don’t even have to publish it, just enjoy the physical act of writing and let your creative side run free.

And in doing so you’ll feel much more relaxed in mind and in body, then when you’re ready you can return to piecing together your next masterpiece.
