I Caught the Covid

And thankfully it’s not that bad.

So, it’s finally happened. I, like the thousands of other ‘victims’ here in New South Wales, have caught the covid.

Thankfully though, my symptoms are minor and as far as sicknesses go, it’s really not that bad.

I have a slight cough, which occurs every 15-20 minutes and this morning I woke up feeling groggy — though that may have something to do with the bourbons I consumed last night.

I have followed all the required government guidelines; reported my positive test to the relevant authorities, contacted the people I’d been in close proximity to recently and have entered into self-isolation with my family which is to last for the next 7 days.

All in all, I consider myself pretty lucky — which sounds like a weird thing to say about having covid. I know there are others who have suffered much more than I due to this virus and families who have had their lives turned upside down because of it. Yes, it is an inconvenience at the moment but it could always be a lot worse.

For me, this experience serves as a reminder to always count your blessings because you never know what life has in store or what’s just around the corner.

Stay safe 😷.
