I Care What You Think
A Poem
I care what you think
It’s not a question or a statement A promise or a threat It’s a fact And I sink
From all the words you throw, Like bullets in the revolver Of the record We play
On repeat
You scream of the vapid-ness In society Without a reflection in sight But your cries land like ripples
In the sea
Sure, we could be better Sure, it’s me Sure, it’s free Sure, I see
All the fetter
But aren’t we all in chains? Chasm reverberates With the sounds of The useless train.
I would leave you know
That’s not a promise or a threat It’s not a statement or a fact It’s a secret If I keep
Caring what you think.
