I Can't Write Anywhere Else

Except Here!

Dear Medium, The first time I actually wrote something here, it was as if this was a clean slate and the words just flow automatically here, by magic.

I wasn't writing anything. Words were being written on their own, there was flowing magic happening. And now after 49 articles, this being the 50th one here, in about two months, I can say, I am totally spoilt for any other writing.

Now, I was recently, considered by an old editor of mine, to write an article for her website. After ages, I am being considered to be paid once again, for my writing, and guess what, instead of being happy, I froze. I started stammering. I started babbling incomprehensible words.

She told me, that we can speak about the rest over the mail. I was relieved and slammed the phone down, wondering what am I going to say to wriggle out of the situation.

But it was too late, my go-getter self, my masculine energy had already committed and it was not going to look back. In other words, I had turned into Tom Bilyeu, Gary Vaynerchuk, and Mel Robinsons' best student. I had to outdo myself.

So I went for it. Yes, Gary, I'll make you proud, “Skills are cheap, and passion is priceless.” Yo Tom, because, ‘I could do more.’

Yo Mel! 5–4–3–2–1, I'll just do it.

And so, I took up the offer. I sat down to write that next viral article for my darling editor who had enticed me, with the prospect of earning some moolah, for my words. So I was back into the business. Yes!

But, ha! Guess what, I open the word doc with a whistle on my lips and a swing in the hips. Thinking wow, and just like that, I am a paid writer. Yay!

And I froze, once again. The ‘Word’ didn’t work for me, I hated writing the very first word on it. I just hated the font size it gives, I hated the font variations. I hated that it was so dull. I hated everything about it. I hated that it wasn't Medium. 😣

But seriously, Medium. Thank you for making such a beautiful platform for us to write on. It is smooth and easy to use and it looks gorgeous. Thanks for spoiling us for any other space. Long live Medium.

Ps-Are there any other tools my fellow writers here, use to write articles for other places? Please do not suggest ‘Word’.
