THAT’S DEEP
I Can’t Stop Making Instagram Squares With People’s Quotable Quotes
But so far, nobody has told me to go meme myself and the horse I rode in on

I’ve read a lot of good stuff here on Medium.
Some of these words are so sharp that they catch in my gullet and beg to be regurgitated. The inspiration I feel when I read a quotable piece is often blistering enough to keep me warm all week — so long as I’m able to “scrapbook” that warmth, to have and to hold.
Scrapbooking, Ma? We’ve talked about this ‘hoarding’ thing. And what are you, a bird?
I’m not talking about Cricut, nor barfing up food for my babies; I’m talking about coughing up memes. Specifically the #uplifting #inspirationalquotes I’m addicted to making in Canva.
With my husband’s and my random landscape photographs as backdrops, some soundbites are meant to echo, far and wide.
I felt this one:

A lot of my favorite quotes are inspiring, like Alvin Ang’s. But some are funny, especially when taken out of context. Read: Andrew Rodwin’s butt-nugget of wisdom from his MuddyUm piece on wiping.
Other quotes are self-aggrandizing. I made shit up and put it on a pretty Canva stock picture, thus stealing an air of parenting wisdom.

And then there’s the memeworthy, random shit my kids say, too —

Lots of spiritual moments with Gale, our fifth child, as he navigates the wilderness of learning how not to be an asshole.
I think our youngest’s original sentiment comes through here, too —

Of course, some of these memes are less than totally appropriate. Here are some, for your viewing pleasure —

There’s a circular, creationist’s argument to my madness. If God didn’t want me to make this shit and post it on the internet, He should never have made Canva on the seventh day, or whatever. Or called it good.
God made Canva too sexy to leave it alone. And the landscapes of California and Mexico aren’t bad, either.
Yeah, I know. I’m trying too hard to imitate “Deep Thoughts By Jack Handey” [external link] from SNL. But hey! I came of age in the days of powerful parody — Austin Powers movies and Weird Al. What do you want from me — an original thought?
I’ll give you an original thought.
