I Can’t Leave The Past Alone
Poetry
Your life keeps telling me to stop looking back But I keep my bags here I can’t find it within me to pack Moving on is what I do, until I don’t And I find myself running back to you
It’s not even you I want, it’s anything and everything from the past I’ll look for anything that can bring it back and make it last
All the fragments, all the pieces, they all lead me back to the start My yearn for the past never ceases As my confusion increases My happiness decreases Because there is nothing for me in the past It’s all gone It’s all done It’s all wrapped up like the setting sun But addiction is difficult to overcome It’s you or it Always haunting you Even when you leave it alone
