I Can’t Believe News Break is Blowing Me Off

Haven’t they read about my mad earnings on Medium?

You may not have heard about this — there’s a new circus in the town of online writing called News Break, and in an attempt to expand their platform they are reaching out to some of the top writers on Medium.

So, to my surprise, they did not immediately contact me. I first took offense until I realized they may be intimidated by my quick rise to success here on Medium.

Maybe they did read the article where I outlined the exact steps I took to go from earning $2.98 to $3.02 in just six months. They probably thought I couldn’t be bothered switching platforms as I am doing so well here.

Little do they know, the very article mentioned above catapulted me into a whole new level of earnings, the likes of which were astounding, even for me.

That one story alone has earned me almost $10.00. Did you hear me? Ten dollars!

I really don’t like to talk about the money I make from writing — I’m not into being all braggy about the dough. But for the sake of this article, I thought it was important for you to know this — I’m basically a top earner since that story dropped. I guess people are just craving to know the secrets to success here — I know I was one of those people once.

So yes, it is surprising that they wouldn’t want to take a shot at converting me over to their space. Yet, I rose above the slight and decided to go the humble route of the masses and simply fill out the application. I knew they would be thrilled to hear from me!

And fill out the application I did, linking my Medium account of course, as well as a few articles I wrote for another popular blog, and then my WordPress site, which I’ve been writing on for over eight years until I flitted over to Medium to reach the rest of the world who hadn’t yet found me whilst Googling around.

I did start to wonder though, did it impact my application that when traveling to my website a menacing SUSPENDED notice came up instead of my pretty and outdated home page?

I mean, come on, we all forget to pay for things sometimes — for example, web hosting. I may have seen an email float by claiming that my hosting had expired. But I’m busy you know — being a top writer takes up a lot of time. If you are in that elite group, and no offense if you aren’t, you might be able to relate.

So, News Break, are you really blowing off my potential massive draw to your platform just because the website I claim to have doesn’t appear to exist? Really? I mean, I can’t think of any other reason. The five to seven days have come and gone and not a word. No call, no email, no private message or text. It’s like you don’t even know I exist.

But no worries. It simply gave me the opportunity to write this piece for all my fellow top writers who might be in the same situation. Much like a crush who never even calls you for a first date — it’s not that they are just not that into you. No, they are afraid of rejection — and believe me, you are on their mind the whole time. The one that got away, they lament until their dying day.

So don’t be discouraged if News Break is blowing you off despite your insane talent, massive views, and of course mad earnings. We’ll just stay here at our home on Medium, where every writer is accepted, whether your own website happens to be SUSPENDED or not.

We’ll be just fine right here.
