I Broke my Laptop While Writing

Now I am writing on my Android Device.

What really happened

So, it was Sunday when I thought that I should check my medium profile, I saw a very sharp increase in my followers and I got really excited. Usually, I am a part-time writer on medium and I have a completely different profession. But, I like to help people to write better and create good content. I also like interacting with my followers and I usually have time to reply to all the fan mails I receive at night on my laptop.

Ultimately, I love helping writers to write irrespective of the money I earn from writing So, back to the present situation, It was Sunday 26th July when I decided to write a lovely article about writing tips. As usual, I started my laptop to write an article on the best styling habits for my followers.

In fact, the process that every writer follows is completely the same while writing. Turn on the laptop, grab a glass of juice to drink while writing, and lastly login into my medium profile and start writing.

Therefore, I logged into my medium account, clicked the new story option and I started writing while observing the beautiful scenery from my balcony. I wrote the title for my article and then I was just thinking about an introduction to my article.

While thinking, I noticed a strange sound coming from the nearby desk. For your information, I have a two desk setup. One for keeping the important files from my work and another for my laptop. I like my laptop desk to be completely empty. My laptop desk should just contain my laptop and it’s charging cable, anything else is thrown to my second desk. Also, all my electricity ports are near to the second desk. Hence, I am forced to connect the charging brick on the second desk and let the charging wire hang till my laptop desk.

Coming back to the story, As I mentioned that I heard a weird sound coming from my second desk. This sound was similar to the ones that of bee buzzing. I ignored the sound as, I thought it could be a bee, which may have entered from the balcony to my room and I didn’t have much time to search for it as my second desk was completely messed up with important files and laptop charger brick.

I kept on writing the article as my main target was to finish it in 1 hour and enjoy my Sunday by watching Netflix and eating some healthy snacks. As I wrote 2 sentences of my article the sound of buzzing started again. This time it was quite loud and I understood that it was not the buzzing of the bee.

I was completely sure that the sound was coming from my charger brick, so I got nervous as there could be a short circuit and my second desk could completely catch fire. More importantly what if the important files from my second desk catch fire, my life would be ruined. But, my laptop was also important for me as, it has some important data from my work. I also can’t afford buying the new laptop.

So, the first thing I did was exiting all the tabs of my browser and click the shutdown button in my laptop. Let me admit that, I am slow when I get nervous. Hence, it took me around 1 minute to click the shutdown option in my laptop, before it could completely shut down, I was able to smell the buring of plastic inside by charger brick, hence I was forced to remove all the plugs from my electricity port for saving the life of myself and my family.

I know that sounded a lot more that what really happened but, I removed all the electric appliance plugs from the electricity port after smelling something weird. Ultimately, my charger brick was completely destroyed internally and my laptop is not turning on. I literally have no idea what happened. I am just assuming it to be some kind of voltage problem with my electricity port near my second desk.

But, I saved my important files from the work and I saved my life(maybe). I called the customer care service of my laptop because all the nearby stores all closed due to corona virus. So, when I called the customer care service, I was assured by one of the technician that he will repair my laptop as soon as the lockdown gets overed in my area due to the corona virus.

Currently, I have no clue if the lockdown gets overed in 2 weeks or will it take 1 month. I can’t complete my office work without my laptop, I have informed my manager about it by sending a short email from my android device. Ultimately, I just can’t help myself from writing. So, I downloaded the Medium App from playstore and I am writing this article on my android device.

It is very difficult to say, if even this article will get publish or I am just writing for myself. I am assured that it won’t get lots of views and claps because medium app doesn’t support grammar extension like desktop version and my grammar completely sucks.

I have no idea when my laptop will get repaired and when I will start writing normally on medium. Until then I am just figuring out if we can link Unsplash to medium app to add images to my articles. My eyes are also hurting, as I need to concentrate more on my smartphone screen to see if there are any typos while writing.
