I Became One Of The Top Writers In The Topic Of ‘Books’

Dreams do come true

In the morning, I woke up to this email:

After reading the email, I got extremely excited. I could not believe what I was reading. I always wanted to be one of the top writers on Medium. And, it has finally happened.

This is the proudest moment of my writing career.

I won’t say I am an avid book reader but I read 20–25 books a year. Naturally, I write a lot of articles on books.

My first viral article was on the book called — Infinite powers:

However, the journey was not easy. It took me more than a year (14 months) to achieve this milestone. I saw many ups and downs (mostly downs). But, it’s good to see your hard work paying off.

I learned many hard lessons during the journey:

Writing is hard

Writing is hard, really hard and I mean it. Somedays, I did not feel like writing but I had to do it because I wanted to become a writer.

You have to go through boredom.

Discipline trumps all obstacles

I wrote more than 70 articles before I got my first viral article. I was able to write 70 articles without any success because I was disciplined. I committed to writing as much as I can.

Talent can only take you to a certain level but discipline will make you achieve your best.

Process is everything

Forget about your goals and dreams and focus only on the execution. Results will take care of themselves.

After some time, I stopped focusing on views. I showed up, I wrote, and moved on.

Winners focus on process not on winning.

Believe in yourself

This is the most important lesson. If you don’t believe in yourself, nothing will happen.

It was my self-belief that kept me going. People can change their destinies through the power of self-belief.
