Summary

The author has automated content creation for their third blog using AI tools but is not satisfied with the results, which include low engagement and the need for significant editing.

Abstract

The author of the blog initiated a third blog, relying on AI tools like ChatGPT and QuillBot to generate content, with the intention of reducing the workload associated with multiple income streams. Despite the hype around AI automation, the author's experience has been challenging, yielding only 39 followers, one email subscriber, and no sales, even after rebooting the blog in a new niche. The process involves minimal promotion and a commitment of four hours per week for content scheduling and editing, which is necessary due to the high number of mistakes in the AI-generated articles. The author remains skeptical about the effectiveness of AI for writing, especially for building a personal writer's brand, but sees potential in AI for affiliate marketing, provided there is additional keyword research and manual editing.

Opinions

  • The author is dissatisfied with the performance of AI tools in creating blog content, citing the need for extensive editing and poor engagement metrics.
  • AI-generated content is viewed as insufficient for establishing a writer's brand, as personal writing and authenticity are deemed important.
  • There is a recognition that AI can be a tool for affiliate marketing, but it requires human intervention for research, editing, and rewriting to be effective.
  • The author believes that the time invested in editing AI-generated content could be better spent on other activities, questioning the efficiency of AI in this context.
  • Despite the setbacks, the author is persistent and plans to continue experimenting with AI tools, exploring different niches, and adjusting strategies to improve outcomes.

I automated my third blog and here is the report

I am not happy with AI

I mentioned that I will be starting my third blog and will use AI to create content. If you wanna read the previous related article then this is the link.

Why a third blog?

It’s hard to stick to one niche and one blog. So I went one step further and started a new blog in one of my favorite niches.

But writing for a third blog is not an easy thing to do. Two blogs are more work itself. But seeing the hype for ChatGPT and automation, I decided to give it a try. I chose those AI tools which people are recommending on the internet.

To try out tools, I created a third blog in a particular niche (I chose a micro-niche for my third blog).

This shows one month’s results only for my third blog.

So how I am managing it?

  1. I used ChatGPT and QuillBot to create articles.
  2. No follow for follow request. No commenting as well. I did no other thing than publish the articles.
  3. I also set up a newsletter to see if people are interested or not.

What is the result?

So, I set up the blog on February first week. I started publishing an article/day in a very small niche (Health niche). After a few days, I deleted the account due to frustration.

Sorry for that.

I recreated the account again and this time choose a topic that I like and have little knowledge about. But the process is still the same. Only AI will do the work and not me.

And the results were horrible.

So here is my results -

  1. Around 39 followers.
  2. 1 email subscriber (my own newsletter)
  3. No sales (not monetized yet)
  4. 7 articles published so far (I deleted my previous account and started a new one with a new niche. Previous account had 47 articles and around 20 followers with no email subscribers)

What I am going to do next?

  1. I have to edit the article because there are LOTS of mistakes.
  2. I will be publishing 1 article per day.
  3. I will be sharing it on ManyStories and Twitter this time. Although I have seen Twitter people hardly click on the links but I will be trying this time for my third blog.

Other than this, I will not be doing anything. So this will take four hours per week.

Is AI still good for writing?

I cannot sell my own products. But for affiliate marketing, yes it’s okay because I have seen full-time bloggers doing it. Although not easy because still you have to edit and rewrite things. If you have no knowledge of the niche you are writing in then it becomes difficult. It means you have to first research and then edit. It’s time-consuming and this was the reason why I changed my niche for a third blog.

Conclusion

If you wanna build a writer’s brand then surely — AI is not right for you. You have to write your own articles and blogs.

If you want to go for affiliate marketing then this can be an option for you. But still, it won’t give you results unless you do keyword research.
