I applied for Newsbreak’s $1,000 grant

I learned about the grant from Kristen Walters and a big thank you to her for sharing it in a story on Medium.

After reading her story, I immediately applied.

Here’s what you should know…

What’s Newsbreak’s grant?

Newsbreak is awarding $1,000 grants to writers for support/funding for their journalism efforts.

• It’s for writers and video creators
• The grant award is $1,000

The application is one page.

I did it on my iPad and it took about 10–15 minutes.

There are a few open-ended questions that you’ll want to take care in answering, which is why it took up to 15 minutes for me to complete the application.

Is it worth it?

I think so.

$1,000 can go a long way for a content creator. Whether you want to buy subscriptions, need funding for admission into a conference or special project or other need, it’s an opportunity that should be taken advantage of.

So, I applied.
