I Am NOT My Hair

Stop focusing on what’s on my head and consider what’s IN my head

I used to do a weekly “Teachable Moment” and then got distracted by life and stopped. What’s recently occurred to me is that if, in fact, my intention is to change the world…that has to begin with changing minds, thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors.

And, I can’t do that without dropping a little knowledge.

I was going to call this episode, “I am NOT my hair” because, well, I’m not. No sista is their hair. We should not be defined by it. We should not be othered because of it. In fact, there shouldn’t even be a focus on our hair to the extent that it disrupts a conversation, meeting, social engagement, or our ability to be in our flow from one day to the next.

This is my two cents on that conversation.
