I’m Developing These 6 Habits To Become Super Productive
No matter who you are, whether a billionaire or just an average salaried person, we all have 24 hours in a day to get our stuff done. And therefore, utilizing these 24 hours so as to achieve the long term or short term goal, you need to stick to a particular plan.
Let me get you through six habits, that I am currently developing and even noticing results in an early stage.
Get your body moving!
One of the simplest habits that can pump your body and mind up is to get your body moving. Think about this, action creates action & inaction creates more inaction, so when you’re usually feeling like ‘you don’t want to do something’ when you know I’ve got this thing that I’ve definitely got to do. In another words, you are usually in the middle of taking action at that moment. But you end up sitting on the couch on Instagram, not getting things done.
Therefore, one of the simplest habits that you can build to become more productive is when you don’t feel like doing something, just get your lazy body up off the couch, out of the bed, turn the tv off & put your phone away and then just start moving.
Now, you could do 50 jumping jacks, you could do 25 push-ups get your body physically moving and that will actually start to get you moving into the direction that you want. Believe me, this simple thing can make wonders to get over any unfinished task you might be having.
Keep reminding yourself to “always be leaning forward”.
Two Minutes Rule
This rule is a safeguard against procrastination and allowing the little things in work and life to mount up.
If an action will take less than two minutes, it should be done at the moment it is specified. This simple yet effective rule will become your best friend along the life.
Some effortless things such as making your bed, responding to an email, watering your plants, tidying your work station, wiping down a mirror, filing a receipt are all tasks which can take upto 120 seconds. So, it is very easy to avoid these small tasks and move to another bigger and more important ones. But keep in mind that if 120 seconds are not going to affect your next task then it is always a better idea to finish these small things right away.
With this easy rule, you will end up building a good habit of escaping the trap of procrastination by avoiding it in the first place.
Learn while you’re on the GO
Being more productive simply means get more things done within the equal amount of time that everyone has. Many people follows some good habit of providing themselves specified time to finish certain things, such as, reading for 20 minutes in the morning, doing light movements after waking up, etc.
These are really good things, but what does it mean to learn while you’re on the go?
In straightforward words, use your time wisely and learn new stuff while attending other tasks which requires no brainer. For example, listening to a podcast while travelling in a car or by bus, listening to an audiobook while walking, etc are the things by which you can multiply your learnings with time you have during your day.
Following The Pomodoro Technique
With the help of the best time management Pomodoro Technique people are encouraged to work with their available time rather than against it. Basic steps in this technique are:
- Pick one thing to concentrate on.
- Set a timer for 25 minutes, then focus entirely on the task you’ve chosen.
- Take a five-minute break after 25 minutes.
- Steps 1–3 must be done four times.
- Consider taking a longer rest of 15 to 30 minutes after repeating above steps for four times.
In the five minutes of break, you can listen to your favourite music, move you body gently, have a brisk walk, meditate, etc. or whatever you would like to do. This technique has proven records about increasing productivity. I have been using this since past two months, and I can see results. I highly suggest to adopt this technique if anyone is struggling to concentrate.
Plan out your energy throughout the day
Some people tend to exercise in the morning because they are highly productive in the morning, however, many people think vice versa, and they are super productive in the evening or maybe late at night. Everybody is different, and therefore it is very important that you know who you are.
Hence, planning your energy according to your own type, and not to match with others, will help you become significantly productive.
I know I am more creative withing first two hours of the day, I do not allow my phone to distract me during this time. Instead, I start writing ideas, I plan my day wisely, I read books and generate ideas, I learn a language or a music instrument, etc. This helps me to achieve results more faster and in more efficient way.
Find out what timing is more suitable for yourself to get those things done. Dedicate that specific time to particular tasks as per your energy and consciousness level to be highly productive throughout your day.
Do not try to remember anything
Now, you must be thinking how not remembering anything helps you maximize your productivity!
So, do not remember anything simply means, try to jot down everything in a notebook, or any of your personal companion that you would like to take your notes down.
I highly recommend this habit, because it has helped me on many occasions and saved me from numerous disasters. A year ago, I was not into this habit, and I always tried to remember everything in my mind, which already has enormous amount of stuff going inside it.
After I started taking notes in my notebook (I personally like keeping it with me instead of going digitally) I started keeping an eye on everything that needs to be done, or I am thinking to get it done in near future.
Just figure out which way is more helpful for you to take notes and try building this simple yet extremely useful habit.
