I am Close to 100 Followers
A tough journey to be at where I am today

Every time I read an article about how to get 100 followers on Medium, I always talk to myself “ I wish I could hit 100 followers soon”.
I remember commenting on an article from Mayowa Olatunji and congrats him on his journey of hitting 100 followers. I started to think and take his advice to implement some of the things in his writing about it and also find great tips from other Medium writers too.
I started to write and join Medium in 2019 but I didn’t write that much because I was focused on my other things, also I’m too busy with my job so I don’t have enough time to write a story.
I started becoming a Medium member on Feb 11, 2023, and start to write again and try to engage with other writers to build a connection. Since then my audience is growing rapidly.
Even though right today ( when I write this article ) still don’t have 100 followers but I’m getting close to that number though, and I’m incredibly excited!
Everybody knows that before you can monetize content on Medium you must have 100 followers. So, this journey to gain followers each day was so tough and I’m really struggling to get it.
Maybe some writers could easily get 100 followers within a week or even 24 hours. I don’t know how they can get it but anyway, that’s not a big deal because we know that everybody has their own process for achieving things. So I am grateful for what I have right now.
I’m pretty sure I will hit 100 followers soon and start to join Medium Partner Program to monetize my story. I was waiting for so long to finally be where I am today and hope to earn some money from my writing so that my dream to work from anywhere can be fulfilled.
And how I wish I could quit my 6 am to 10 pm job to do what I love and make my dream come true.
Last but not least, I will share with you how I gained my followers rapidly in not even one month, simply by following other writers, reading, and engaging with them.
I consider myself not a good writer, my English also needs improvement and I still need to learn a lot from others too. But all these things is not an obstacle to achieving my dream.
If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just START!
