Abstract

Highlighting the corrupt nature of politics and the illusory world of social media, the author argues that most people prefer the perceived security of conformity over the pursuit of genuine happiness and purpose. The text calls for a life lived authentically, free from the constraints of societal expectations, and suggests that true existence is found in personal fulfillment and the search for one's purpose, rather than in the validation of others.

I Am Alone But I Am Free

I have started to realise the true meaning of life and why most people prefer to live a lie than to seek the truth. Although the truth will set you free it comes with a cost that most people refuse to pay and others cannot afford.

My desire to seek the truth brought me to consciousness and the more I became awake the more I became distant from the herd. I have learned that you cannot free people who do not want to be freed and it saddens me to say it, but the majority of the world would rather be a slave to the system because of the comfort they think it brings rather than being free from systematic slavery.

Putting your life in the hands of the corrupt will only bring corruption to your mind and soul. Dreams do not exist in the land of politics and people do not do what they say. The words they express are read from a paper written by somebody else to make them seem trustworthy in the eyes of the social construct.

How can you believe the words coming out of their mouth when they are not the one who even writes them?

Power, politics and poison have divided the human race because if humanity is divided it can never rise against the machine. Humanity needs each other to exist in happiness and we wonder why we are a sad generation with happy pictures. It is because the world of social media does not truly exist but the room you sit in alone whilst scrolling through the online world does.

Social creatures have become unsociable and the thought of spending time with friends brings people crippling anxiety, yet whilst we stand alone we are flooded by depression and unable to breathe as we are barely surviving above the surface in this thing that we call life. Are we truly on a floating rock in space or are we trapped in the confines of computer code and algorithms on a supercomputer or do we truly exist?

I would rather live a life that makes me happy and do things that bring happiness to my soul than do things that others agree with or that fit within people’s opinions of morals, especially when most people struggle to define the world itself. Just because somebody thinks something is or is not socially acceptable does not mean it is the truth and trying to please 7 billion opinions online will bring you nothing but insanity.

We may not truly know how we got here but the truth is we are here. Would you rather spend your existence trying to please others and doing things you do not necessarily agree with but it looks good in the eyes of the Twitter fingers? Or would you rather live a life that you dream of that is free from the cells the social construct tries to imprison you behind, by trapping you in your mind like a trapped signal struggling to find its way back to the heart?

We are more than humans we are electricity and without the signal of hope, joy will never reach the heart. The truth will set you free but a lie will take your freedom away from you. We are not born to work until we drop, we are born to live a fulfilled life and to find the answers to our existence. No matter what people tell you we all have a purpose but most people lose theirs the day they become an adult the day they turn 18.

Although I am not the only one who can see between the lines, I am one of few in a world of many and that makes me a lonely soul. Roaming the earth in search of others like me, maybe one day I will find them and we can build a new world where everyone is free, … maybe but until then I may be alone but I am free.
