Summary

The article discusses the prevalent fear among people towards those with differing political views, which is seen as advantageous to those in power.

Abstract

The author of the article expresses a deep concern about the pervasive fear that exists between individuals who hold opposing political beliefs. This fear is not limited to governments but extends to extremist thought leaders across the political spectrum. The article argues that this fear is deliberately perpetuated by leaders who benefit from a divided populace. It suggests that as long as fear persists, genuine dialogue and the exchange of ideas are hindered, leading to the dehumanization of those perceived as enemies. The text calls for recognition of our shared humanity and the inherent worth of every individual, emphasizing that fear should not define our interactions with others.

I am not only referring to governments when I say „Those in Power“. I‘m talking about extremists thoughleaders on every side of the political spectrum.

No matter which political party or ideology you prefer – your leader needs you to fear the people from the other side.

As long as we fear each other we will never really talk or exchange valid arguments. We will allways see the other one as a threat and as evil.

A threat is not a human being. Evil is not a human being. So we can deny the humanity of our enemys and devalue not only their ideas but even their lifes.

This is the state of mind the leaders want us to be in.

For me you are the other one and I am the other one for you. So everybody is the other one for somebody. Therefore noone is special and noone is worth more than any other human being.

I am afraid and so are you. We should never forget that.
