94% of writers on Medium earn less than $100 a month.

Considering I had never made a dollar on the internet before 2023, the thought of earning triple figures from writing sounded grand and far-fetched.

And far-fetched it was, because I had to travel across an entire year to cross that benchmark.

A combination of factors is why it took 12 months to achieve what some accomplished in their first month.

But the pertinent question is — was that a bad thing?

Maybe that was what I needed. My writing needed time. I needed time.

Because while fighting all the demons that arose when I started writing, while fighting the resistance in my path, I found myself.

I am a better writer for it, tested and proven true.

So as I embark on another year-long trek, may the muse smile kindly on me and my creative journey.
