Hurricane on the Plains
Mother Nature’s ‘Bomb Cyclone’ haircut
I’ve never been in a hurricane before until today yet I live thousands of miles from the nearest ocean
The police warned everyone to not go out-of-doors today lest they be konked on the noggin by flying debris
Looking out my window I see tree branches everywhere on the ground Mother Nature was in a tree-pruning mood
We all need pruning I know I do but I’d rather schedule an appointment
Sometimes we wait too long to make an appointment so Mother Nature steps in
Sometimes we forget to change so change steps in and we act surprised
All we can do is clean up the mess so we can proceed down the road
So that everyone will see our new ‘do’ and attitude and compliment the new us
And we forget to thank the brutal hand of nature that really deserves the credit
