Hurricane Hades
I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house down
Anger courses through your every vein Like a jittery snake poised to strike yet again You deserve it, my friend, there is no doubt But it doesn’t relieve your tarnished pain
You puff your chest, slam doors, destroy Your only aim to cool off your brain I want to get inside your crippled body And extinguish that ring of simmering flames
Life’s not fair to our tortured, sacred children It’s an unfathomable lesson to learn It picks you up like a hurricane coming to shore And tosses you through layers of rubble and rain
Your beauty shines through the darkest of skies Oh, to see that smirk and smile on your tender face Innocence shines through with luminescent stars Your future’s too bright to wear shades
My love for you could fill the deepest ocean It breaks my heart that that’s not what you need I’m terrified at times of what will come of it And wish I could unbreak your scalding pain
Yet through it all we get glorious glimpses That brings hope and lights up the hallways of our lives The monster has left you alone for the time being While we writhe together, waiting for the next exchange
