I just received a Gift voucher from a shoe store in Australia, for $25 off my next purchase. Under the words GIFT VOUCHER $25 there was WELCOME TO AW19.

“What the heck is AW19?” I wondered.

I started googling it, then got flustered wondering why the devil I wanted to know and why I was spending some of my precious “time” on googling AW19.

Lately I’ve been feeling quietly depressed and I found out from a Story on Medium that depression is likely due to be based upon expectations in the past not being met.

You bet. Like why is humankind this crappy that we have so much trouble and division, and to be specific, why is humanity so dark that we have such terror and still have horrific things happening all around the globe?

For some of us empaths, it can make you want to curl up and give up. But you can run, but you can’t hide.

We are all connected intricately to every single other person and thing in the Universe. So why is there so much division and intolerance?

This brings me back to AW19. It’s in my “constitution” that I love data or information, so with time permitting, I forged ahead to find the next clue in my insignificant search.

Celine AW19 — you are kidding I said silently to the Universe, is someone up there having a laugh at me?

Finally I find it means “Celine Autumn Winter 19” and my depression sinks even further (no pun intended).

What the blue blazes have the Paris Autumn / Winter 2019 fashion styles got to do with shoes in a Perth shoe store?

I could not match a single shoe that I saw on the websites heralding the “Paris Fashion Week AW19” to a single shoe on the website of the shoe shop offering $25 off my next purchase.

MY CONCLUSION:

“Jumping on the bandwagon, cashing in their chips” — the shoe shop probably will have a shoe design from the “Paris Fashion Week AW19” in store, if only I went to their bricks and mortar store.

Looking at their website, the window to the shop’s “soul” you would think (if shops could have a Soul) there was not a peep about the wonders of the AW19 wares. I find this very strange, i.e. out of integrity with the allure on my voucher.

I’m sure that lots of people would immediately know what AW19 means and be over the moon to see “Welcome to AW19” on a shoe discount voucher. By association she who does not know AW19 would assume that it is something terribly important to the shoe shop.

Sadly I still can’t work that out. Do the owners of my local shoe shop go to Paris Fashion Week AW19? As mentioned, will there be shoes there at the physical shoe store, fit for a denizen of the Paris Fashion Week AW19?

AW19 or Autumn / Winter in the Northern hemisphere of course falls during the Australian Spring / Summer months. Here in Australia we are in the first official month of Autumn, so can I rush out to the UK (if I wanted to) to buy my fashionable clothes and shoes for my Autumn and Winter, or can I just pop into my local hair-dressers for a trendy AW19 Autumn / Winter style?

No, not if Spring has sprung there, and they are just advertising for their Autumn which will occur in my September.

It’s a bit confusing when the real thing is yet to catch up, or has already passed, like going to the News agency in March to buy the March edition of a magazine, only to find you have missed out because even though it still is early March, the April edition is already out.

It’s a topsy turvy world that we live in sometimes. “Welcome to AW19” somehow triggered worry signals in my brain. Who would have thought?

But now that I’ve calmed down, to sensibly elucidate my concerns, the matter is that we are brain-washed into going up certain paths and hankering after particular things or people or relationships or lifestyles.

There is so much going on in the World today. If you don’t know then you don’t know, and there is so much to know, and things we will never know, such that those who do not have the context of what is written or said or done, or have direct understanding of something, will miss out.

I have always been “big” on inclusivity in all ways, and my perception that just maybe there is too much choice now, and that people are getting left out because of the many things that they don’t know, because of what I call collective exclusion”, saddens me.
