How Your Life Could Look Like if You Could Be Technologically Savvy
What’s differentiating the haves and the haves not in the 21st century
New times call for new ways of doing things. Isn’t it? And new ways of doing things call for a new approach to life. Does it? And a new approach to life demands new thinking. Right?
This means what differentiates successful people today from everyone is seeing things from this perspective.
Yes or no?
Because as time goes on and things are changing, successful people are also changing and acquiring the skills needed to meet this change.
Some might not learn the skills themselves but will ensure they get people to do it, to help them, whichever way possible. And with it, they are always staying afloat while others sink.
People succeed in these times because of modern tools to go about things.
New time calls for new ways of doing things
The old ways of doing things are no more. I don’t have to say it, but I need to repeat it for you since perhaps you don’t have it fixed in your mind.
The reason? We have people and countries naturally endowed with abundant resources but struggling. It’s not because their resources aren’t valuable anymore. It’s simply the times changing, and the marketplace need, evolving.
Apple computers are worth more than a whole nation, not because the country is poor. It’s because technology is the thing now. The demand for apple products and their usage exceeds the demand for gold now. Just think about it.
Someone is making more money than the medical doctor using the internet, not because the doctor’s job isn’t needed anymore. Technology is giving people access to the global market. The doctor’s work is limited to a location.
If the doctor wants more money, he must make his services available to everyone using modern tools. But, until that, he’ll be a struggling business. And that’s the power of technology — access to a broader range of people and markets.
“Once a new technology rolls over you, if you’re not part of the steamroller, you’re part of the road.” — Stewart Brand
This single idea alone could change your life
How life used to be back then is no more. Things have changed, which means new ways of doing things too.
So, how do you fit yourself into the modern methods of doing things?
Simple! Become a thinker — allow your mind to go far into things to understand how they work, learn them, and use them.
That’s how they’ve created great businesses and companies.
Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, etc., were all made through thinking.
Unfortunately, most of us don’t like to think. It could be because of the difficulty it takes. But, think of it, if we all say thinking is complex, so we won’t do it; what do you think will happen?
We will be poor. That’s why those summoning the courage to think and dig deeper into things are the ones succeeding. And I’m not telling you to create the next Facebook.
I’m saying use your brain and acquire skills in technological tools. They can make your life better.
People are raking in millions of dollars every day because of technology.
I’m coming from a third world where access to the internet is difficult, especially if you’re not from a wealthy home. Away from it, I didn’t know about some of the things I was talking about earlier.
But, I’ve discovered that’s the way to succeed in today’s world. So, I’m doing what I can to learn these new tools to help me. That’s what you must do, too.
Don’t rely on your physical strength in these times to do things
One of the people I watch on youtube a lot is Tai Lopez. I watch him because he’s harnessed the power of technology to build multiple businesses.
In one of his videos, he mentions what successful people of today are doing than anyone else. It’s nothing but the use of technology to do things.
And it makes sense. Technology is a tool that, when used well, can multiply your productivity a million times. So if you’re using it to create or produce and I am using the traditional means to do what I do and we’re in the same industry, you’ll beat and have a more significant share of the market than me.
It’s more efficient and has a broader reach geographically. Moreover, more people live and depend on the internet nowadays for things than they do in the real world.
Make continuous and never-ending improvement your shield
“An extraordinary life is all about daily, continuous improvements in the areas that matter most.” — Robin Sharma
Have you wondered why some people have college degrees and Ph.D.’s yet struggle with life? Have you thought about why they can’t seem to match up with today’s life?
It’s because they aren’t keeping up with the times. If you graduate college today and don’t continue to study to upgrade your mindset and skillset, you’ll be rusty mentally.
That’s why you need continuous studies to help you keep up.
I haven’t gotten everything in my life figured out. But, committing myself to personal growth, I’m far better than I used to. I’ve come to realize it’s the key to succeeding in today’s world.
So, I don’t play with it. It’s not about how many degrees you have that matters. It’s about how much you study to keep up with the times. That’s what makes the difference.
Final thoughts
Technology has come to stay whether you like it or not. And it’s those who have embraced it that are succeeding.
And unless you want to fail, you should forget about it. But, if you want to achieve, you have no option but to accept it, learn, and use it.
Because that’s what will help make your life better in today’s world.
