How You Can Turbo Charge Your Growth on Medium.com
Tips For New and Old Writers

So, you’re a new writer on Medium.com, huh? That’s fantastic! Welcome to the club. Now, you might be wondering how you can turbocharge your growth on this platform. Well, you’re in luck because that’s exactly what we’re going to talk about today.
First things first, let’s talk about the importance of consistency. It’s easy to get excited and publish a flurry of articles in your first week, only to disappear for a month. Hello! That’s not going to help you grow. Consistency is key on Medium. Try to publish regularly, whether that’s once a week, twice a week, or even daily if you’re up for the challenge. For me, I publish at least three articles daily. I recommend this as a minimum, especially for new writers. You need the numbers! This will help you build an audience who knows they can count on you for regular content. It’s hard enough to get eyes on your page, so once they get there, give them a reason to stay longer. Attention = Money.
Next, let’s talk about the power of networking. Medium is a social platform, after all. Don’t be afraid to engage with other writers. Leave thoughtful comments on their articles. Respond to comments on your own articles. Follow writers whose work you admire. Not only will this help you learn from others, but it will also help you get your name out there. Whenever I see a great article (title), I add it to my list, so I can read it later. It will amaze you how many ideas you will get by just reading other people’s articles.
Now, onto the topic of quality. While it’s important to publish regularly, you don’t want to sacrifice quality for quantity. Take the time to edit your articles. Make sure your ideas are clear and your writing is engaging. Remember, people are more likely to follow you if they enjoy your writing.
Make sure you follow at least 100+ people daily. Medium allows you to follow up to 100-125 people per day. Make sure you max out these numbers daily. The folks with the yellow tags are the ones that get you paid when they read your articles (if you are on the Partner Program). From my experience, about 10% of that number will follow back daily. I have experimented with this for 2 months now and I tell you it works! It’s one of the easiest ways to gain followers. (Meanwhile, kindly follow me now that you are here)
Finally, don’t forget to promote your articles. Share them on your social media platforms. Send them to your email list if you have one. The more eyes you can get on your articles, the better.
Growth on Medium doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time and effort. But with consistency, networking, quality writing, and promotion, you can turbocharge your growth on this platform.
So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and start writing!
