How much joy and happiness do you get whenever you write something so important to you or to your readers?

Today, I want to share with you my own story that might relate to you in one way or another.

Writing has not been my hobby or anything of that sort in my early years at school. In fact, I use to hate writing composition during English classes

But looking back today as I write down this post to share with you astonishes me a lot because life is such an amazing journey that you cannot even predict what surprises it’s hiding for you along the way.

It was only in my late twenties that I started journaling certain events of my personal life that would eventually lead me into falling in love with writing forever.

Today, writing is an integral part of my life. Its something that gives me joy and happiness whenever I write down something especially when I finish and publish articles here on this platform for the purpose of inspiring or improving someone else’s life.

“I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn.” — Anne Frank

Usually, I am a secretive person but on this occasion let me tell you a little secret I have. Although writing articles using the keyboard is nice, but it is writing with my own hand with a pen and a notebook that really gives me the ultimate joy.

Here goes the secret “I write down most of my articles first using my hand on a notebook after that I type it using the keyboard on my laptop just for the sake of getting the ultimate joy and happiness I find in it.” It might seem strange to you but it’s a fact.

The impact of writing can have on your life

Writing has changed my life dramatically in the last few months. Whenever I write something or post an article here on Medium feels like I have accomplished something very important.

Below I am going to list the kind of impact writing can have on your life :

1. Writing makes you express your feelings without any hesitation. By doing this you release your emotions.

2. Writing makes me feel you are a very important person because not many people in this world can write. It's a challenging thing to do.

3. Writing can make you convey your ideas to the outside world in the best way possible.

4. Writing ignites the creativity you have inside and the vast potential you have that is still untapped.

5. Writing can also make you help thousands or even millions of people around the globe with your own words.

Final thoughts

Becoming a writer is one of the best things anyone can aspire to be today especially in this age of technology and the emergence of digital publishing platforms such as Medium.

For the record, I started writing articles here on Medium in December 2019. So I consider myself an infant when it comes to writing that is only six months old now and has many years ahead of him to grow.

If you are already a writer congratulations, but if you are thinking about becoming one, then I have a little advice for you from Seth Godin.

He said :

“Everyone should write a blog every day, even if no one reads it. There are countless reasons why it is a good idea and I can’t think of one reason it’s a bad idea”.

Thank you for your precious time.
