How Winters are Making the World a Better Place
Lockdown? Winter blues? Think again
It’s December and I’m loving it!
There’s so much uniquely blissful about winter that not even COVID and lockdown can spoil:
Lit candles and open fires.
The soothing whoosh of wind.
Rain pattering on bare windows.
Snow crunching beneath winter boots.
Comfort food and Christmas movies.
Naps.
Fluffy pyjamas and slippers.
Mulled wine.
Summer months are so busy. Social events, trips and days out. Sand and expectations. Mosquitos and wasps.
Winter is calm. The streets are bare. Demands from the outside world dwindle. Candles, open fires, movies, and ‘hygge’ replace this hustle and bustle. The world is never as quiet or peaceful as it is during the darkest, coldest months.
It’s when we pull back, recharge, and dig out a good book.
What’s your favourite thing about winter?
