How Will You Be Smart In 2022?

The new concept of being smart

The meaning of smart

In my traditional concept- smart means to have a good personality, speak well, have immaculate good manners, and dress well in a reasonably accepted manner.

Today I am surprised to note that this is not being smart at all. Then what should you do to be smart in 2022?

The future of 2022 watch out! smart will be quite different.

I will list out four things to be smart in the future of 2022. A smart home, A smartwatch, an electric car and the ownership and use of metaverse in social media sites and electronic games.

1. The smart home

To be smart your home should be smart. It should have all kinds of smart products in it. You must have modern fitted door locks with interconnected thermostats, and also robot vacuum cleaners.

The future has so much more for smart homes. Apple Samsung Google and Amazon are updating their products to be interactive. So your smart home will not only have various products but they will be interconnected in a manner that they can speak to each other.

At the present moment, Apple Air Pods do not match with windows laptops. Door locks will work with an Apple Watch but not with a fit bit. With interconnected devices, you will be smart if you install them in your home.

Home technology in the future will be called ‘Matter’

‘Matter’ is a unifying standard that promises connectivity. It has been given a seal of approval for reliability and compatibility between devices that they will work seamlessly together

Matter creates connections between objects and makes it compatible with consumers.

Remember to make you home smart to be called smart

2. The smartwatch

Do you have a smartwatch? If not then think of buying one. Your future is connected to having a smartwatch. The most popular ones are Apple Watch, Fitbit, Fasttrack, and Mi Bands and now the latest being the Oura ring

What do these smartwatches do?

They track the number of steps we take each day and the kilometers we cover while walking or running. Our sleep hours, when we slept deep, light, number hours of sleep, etc. It also takes the heart rate. It tracks body temperature and also informs the wearer about any chronic illnesses.

Many a time I have seen people taking their phone calls on such watches. They also have their diet plans and plans for reducing weight showing what they ate during the day. In other words, a lot of personal data is stored in a Smartwatch.

Recently I heard that even smaller devices were being made with sensors to keep track of a person’s activity.

A Finnish health tech company called Oura has made the new Oura Ring that monitors your heart rate and also gives you the insights you need as to what you did during the day and what you should do for the rest of the day in your activity plans. It tracks your body through several sensors.

The verge states “the NBA announced it bought 2,000 Oura Rings to monitor athletes. Prince Harry has been a fan for years, and celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Kim Kardashian West have also been spotted wearing sleep trackers. That’s already a lot of buzz for a niche gadget, but the third-generation Oura Ring also adds ambitious new features like period prediction and blood oxygen”

There are limitations to these gadgets and doctors' checkups are necessary even though your smartwatch takes care of measuring a lot of your health data. My own view is that these trckers are good for finding how much you walked during the day and for sleep but too much dependance is not good. There is no replacement for a physical check up from time to time to monitor your health.

Enjoy wearing your smartwatch and become smart in 2022

3. The Electric Car

People are crazy about electric cars. In some countries, they are being promoted by the government to make people buy them as the replacement time comes for the car to avoid pollution. They emit fewer greenhouse gases and air pollutants than petrol or diesel cars. This takes into account their production and electricity generation to keep them running.

There are some hybrid varieties as well. The latest report by Bloomberg New Energy Finance shows that by 2040, 58% of global passenger vehicle sales will come from electric vehicles. At the same time, they will make up less than 33% of all the cars on the road.

By 2025 electric vehicles (EVs) will reach 10% of global passenger vehicle sales, growing to 28% in 2030 and 58% by 2040.

My son also bought a Tesla in the USA and encourages everyone to buy an electric car in the future.

However one must remember the limitation. The price to be smart in 2022 is that there are not so many charging stations. Electric cars still have problems since the technology is new and has to be handled with care.

4. The metaverse

The future is based on how real-world economies in a virtual world, transact them in the virtual world and bring them back into the real world.

Metaverse is the future.

Social media sites and movies are already using metaverse. Facebook has reinvented itself and calls itself Meta. Google, Microsoft, and others are all getting metaverse ready. I have already written a lot about it. In my article on Content writers are you ready for metaverse? you will find the future preparedness for the metaverse.

Apple is also making a headset with the AR and VR experience. You will experience yourself through an avatar.

People will be able to meet with the help of personalized avatars to feel more present and interactive than a plain video call.

You must remember that too much use of it is prone to cybersickness and I have listed this out in my article are you aware of cyber sickness? It is very interesting but it has to be used with care.

The Takeaway

  • Smart homes have become the order of the day. Do look at smart locks, keys, Alexa, Siri, and remotes in the house, they are interconnected or you will not be able to use them effectively.
  • Interconnectedness is important in a smart home.
  • Smartwatches are of different types and now small mini ones are being manufactured. You can choose the size and related features you want to use.
  • Electric cars are the future due to climate change problems.
  • Awareness is certainly desired of how to be smart by being future-ready.

To conclude

The future is moving very fast. There is no use stuffing your home with gadgets. Become smart and use one remote for everything or just use Matter to interconnect the things.

Use smartwatches to track personal things only if you want too.

Electric motor cars are the future and we have to accept it.

Finally the metaverse is the new social media concept so understand it.

My advice, be smart in 2022. Be future-ready

It is aptly said that :

“Once a new technology rolls over you, if you’re not part of the steamroller, you’re part of the road.” Stewart Brand
