How to Write a Blog Post

Creating Blog Posts

Once you have your blog up and running and have given it a look and navigation, you are pleased with it, and the next step is writing blog posts. This is important because it will give your site its value and encourage people to want to visit your site and hopefully return time and time. This is what you need to focus on. The difficulty will be in standing out from the crowd of other websites and blogs that will be competing for attention.

To accomplish this, you must concentrate on providing extremely high quality that also consistently provides value.

As we’ll see later, this is also beneficial for your search engine optimization. It would help if you always kept in mind that someone must be interested in reading your content based on the title and their previous experience with your site and brand. If you consistently produce uninspired, derivative, or poorly written content, no one will bother to visit your site.

The ‘optimal length’ for a blog post is around 1,800 words, which is why it is called the ‘optimum length.’ Even though this may seem excessively long, it is precisely this kind of length that will allow you to delve deeply into a topic and provide unique insight and discussion that can not be found anywhere else. It enables you to provide a comprehensive overview of a subject, and it allows you to turn your blog post into a resource that other people will recommend and share throughout the internet.

In the meantime, you should consider the title and the topic of your paper. For example, if you are writing another article for your fitness website with the title “Top 10 Pec Exercises,” you will not likely gain many new followers or subscribers. Why? Because both the subject and the structure have already been done to death on this subject!

People have already read the title and know exactly what your post will be about, and they have most likely already seen the top ten exercises you will be providing. What exactly is the added value of this? On the other hand, consider the topics/titles from Maria Popova’s excellent website, “Brain Pickings” (www.brainpickings.org), which has a plethora of information.

Here are a few examples:

“Bruce Lee on Self-Actualization and the Critical Difference Between Pride and Self Esteem” is an article written by Bruce Lee.

“The Outsider with a Public Voice: How Joan Didion Mirrored Us Back to Ourselves” is a piece written by Joan Didion.

“A Year Without Mom: A Gorgeous Graphic Novel About Separation and Reunion, the End of Childhood, and the Tradeoffs of Happiness” is a graphic novel about separation and reunion, the end of childhood, and the tradeoffs of happiness.

Unique and fascinating, these titles beg to be read in their entirety. Also noteworthy is that when you click on any of those titles, you will quickly discover that the same level of care and attention has been paid to the actual posts themselves. Each blog post is between 1,000 and 3,000 words in length, and it is beautifully decorated with images and quotes and is exceptionally well written. In other words, it provides real value to the reader while also providing them with something to enjoy while sipping on a cup of coffee.

In your opinion, how much more likely do you believe it is that something like this will spark discussion? Or do you want to be shared? And by how much is it more likely that someone will subscribe to that blog in the first place? Compared to an article on ‘The Top 10 Pec Exercises,’ this one is light years ahead of the competition. Although not all of your posts must be highly thought-provoking philosophical pieces, they should all be distinct, inherently interesting, and different to stand out.

If you’re interested in the fitness industry, you might want to check out some of the titles available from Breaking Muscle (www.breakingmuscle.co.uk):

“Weightlifters at the highest levels of competition are just like us.”

“The One-Session, One-Exercise, One-Set Strength Plan” is a one-session, one-exercise, and one-set strength plan.

The question is: “So, you want to be a Lion?”

Every one of these titles is intriguing and unique, and the posts are lengthy, in-depth, and packed with great value. T-Nation (www.t-nation.com) is another excellent example of this:

“Iron Core: How to Build a Punch-Proof Body” is the title of the book.

“A Lifter’s Guide to Alcohol” is a book written by a lifter.

You can even consider the articles that are used as “clickbait” to generate traffic on social media. These articles have titles such as “You’ll Never Believe What This Mum Does Next Shocking!” or “You’ll Never Believe What This Mum Does Next Shocking!” and they are full of controversy. In either case, this piques the user’s interest, and they are compelled to click. Your goal is to arouse the same level of interest as before, but you must also follow through on the promise made in the title by ensuring that your posts are as interesting and unique as they appear on the surface.

Also, keep in mind that the ultimate goal is to convert your website visitors into paying customers. To accomplish this, you must first earn their trust, and then you must demonstrate your ability to add value. It is undeniably the most effective strategy for creating interesting and unique content while also being in-depth. SEO and Other Methods of Promoting a Blog You’re using your blog, as an internet marketer, to sell products of various descriptions, to generate clicks, or in some other way, to attract people to your business model.

So you’re using your blog as a marketing tool. Is that correct? It is necessary, however, to market the blog itself to accomplish this.

SEO, also known as Search Engine Optimization, is undoubtedly one method by which you will accomplish this. In its most basic form, SEO allows you to promote your website through Google by making it more “search engine friendly.” One way to accomplish this is to create a large amount of content for your blog, as this is what people will be looking for when they type something into a search engine.

At the same time, you want to make sure that the people who find you are the right people, which means that you should include the important ‘keywords’ right in your content: phrases that people are likely to search for to find what it is that you are offering. For example, your ‘keyword’ might be ‘buy hats online’ if you sell hats. You don’t want to use this phrase too frequently because it will make your site appear spammy, and it may result in it being blacklisted.

Instead, aim for a keyword density of between 1–2 percent and write naturally ‘around’ the subject matter as much as possible. It is also a good idea to post lots of content, as is making sure that your site loads quickly and functions well on mobile devices — Google takes all of these factors into consideration. The other component of SEO is the development of a “backlink profile.”

To do so, you must first ensure that there are a large number of websites linking to you — and that those websites are relevant and of high quality. Some of the other methods of promoting your website include developing a large social media following (again, the key to success is to ensure that you are providing value) and building a large mailing list to keep people coming back again and again.
