How To Use Evernote and Notion Together to Get Things Done
My workflow is critical and not the tools

Notion and Evernote are both great applications.
People usually assume they’re competing services with overlapping functionality.
And that’s partially true. So, for example, you can create notes and attach documents and images with Evernote and Notion.
I believe that Evernote and Notion do very different things well and that combining them will provide the best of both worlds.
Both Evernote and Notion together work wonders and are friends :)
I use Notion and Evernote in my workflow; they are both great products. Please find below a table displaying the applications I use for each piece of functionality:
For note-taking — I use Evernote
For database management — I use Notion
For web clipping — I use Evernote (and love it)
For creating reading lists — I use Notion
For archiving my documents — I use Evernote
For project management — I use Notion
Let’s check out each of these.
Evernote + Note-taking.
The purpose of Evernote is to capture long-form notes since that is exactly what it is designed for. This is an application for taking notes.
Notion is a multitasking productivity app.
I am a big fan of using the “best-in-class” app for a specific task when using apps. I prefer doing so. Some people do not like using multiple apps concurrently. Each approach has its pros and cons.
Another reason I use Evernote for note-taking is its excellent search functionality.
Evernote will find any phrase I type into its search bar, including inside images and pdfs. Though you can write notes and attach images and attachments, the search function in Notion is not as good as Evernote’s.
Notion + Database Management.
Data is something we all want to store and query. It is often done in spreadsheets such as Excel or online through Google Sheets. However, you can still perform this function using Notion since its table function allows you to use formulas and create different views of a table.
Check out this excellent YouTube video below on how to use databases in Notion:
Evernote + Web Clipping.
Notion and Evernote both allow clipping of web pages.
Depending on what I am using it for, I clip web content to Notion and Evernote. When I compare the two web clippers, I find the Evernote Web Clipper to be more flexible in how and what I can clip.
Notion + Reading Lists.
As we read, our curiosity grows. I keep reading a lot every time and then stop for a while. I had difficulty getting myself to read without a list of books to choose from.
A few months ago, I created a book list, which I added to whenever I heard about a book I might like to read later.
Evernote + Document Repository and Archiving.
I prefer Evernote here, although both Notion and Evernote allow you to upload documents to their respective services.
Evernote’s ability to search within documents is a primary reason I use it for this function.
Evernote supports documents that are indexed with OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
Notion + Kanban Board
I need a system to manage everything I need to keep track of when I am running a blog.
With its database capabilities and flexibility, Notion is incredible at this. In addition, Notion can be used to manage projects by creating a Kanban board.
