It seems we are all programmed that way, the underlying desire to stick with bed and stay warm then rise only to realize you don’t have much time to complete your daily task.

I still remember my days in high school, all the stuff we did. My final exam was approaching fast and I knew it but somehow couldn’t get myself to pick a book for more than 30 mins a day. I’d rather sleep off my study hours, play video games, and more video games. I was brilliant but was destructively lazy, the case was the same for some of my peers. Birds of the same feathers if you ask me. Don’t worry I passed but just barely.

After high school, now far away from my pals, I realized nothing good was coming out of my video games other than the flexibility to trash my opponent ten to zero in mobile Pro Evolution Soccer (PES). It was high time I pressed the uninstall button and let go of the desire to stick with the bed all day.

An autopilot human

Imagine you woke up at 6 am on a blissful Monday morning, took your bath, and begin your daily activities. And at the end of the day, you were able to complete all your obligations even though delays and challenges came looking for you. If this happened the next day, then up to a week. And if we could say the same after several months then you have become an autopilot human being.

A robotic human being is someone who can get things done and I mean someone who can complete all his daily tasks under positive and negative circumstances. You don’t get such a trait from birth you simply have to learn it.

Let’s be clear on this, turning yourself into a robot isn’t going to be easy, you may try several times and fail but success will come if you implement persistence and dedication.

Find Your Purpose

The purpose is what gets you out of bed each morning, It is the mindset that keeps you in the driver’s seat on the journey to reach success. You need to begin to ask yourself what your purpose is, the real reason you yet draw breath. Are you a writer whose content should be saving millions of readers around the world? or a public speaker? Jokingly, Maybe you’re supposed to huddle under a blanket and stay warm all day.

You need a plan

Your purpose prompts you to take action but how you go about it is another aspect we need to take a thorough look at.

You need to build a plan of action, probably a list of tasks you need to complete or events to attend. Do you have to mail your clients every morning? or begin research about your next article? A realistic plan of action will go a long way, you don’t need to burden yourself with too much work, break your purpose into simple achievable daily tasks and get on with it.

Be Present Everyday

Even after finding your purpose and creating a realistic plan of action you need to show up every day, in other words, you have to implement consistency.

Becoming successful in life takes a lot and consistency is at the top of the list, if your goal is to become a top writer on Medium then you have to write and engage with other writers and readers every day. A robotic writer will show up to work every day even if his previous day’s article shows little or no encouragement.

Dichotomy of control

The mind is easily derailed from tasks by the simplest of burdens and this is surely something you can not afford in your path to becoming an ultimate human being.

The dichotomy of control has proven to be an essential aspect of stoicism, and it involves the ability of an individual to keep his mind on things that are within his control while completely ignoring things that are not.
