How to Turn One Article into 11 Articles

Over and over again whenever you want…

Do you have a few “not yet finished” or “not quite complete” articles on your computer? You know, those articles that only have one or two thoughts and you’ve yet to be able to complete them.

They have a nasty way of staring at you and laughing, don’t they?

Here’s the Random Yet Strategic Thoughts Template to the rescue!

There’s 2 ways to do this:

  1. Collect 10 random yet strategic thoughts on a specific topic in your niche.
  2. Collect 10 random yet strategic thoughts on life in general, related to your niche or not.

Gather them up into one article. There’s your first article.

Your 10 articles (10 + 1 = 11) come from taking each of those thoughts and building them out.

“But Jeff!” you say “if I could do that I would have already done it!”

Good thought. Bad strategy.

Just try it. There’s something about giving those discarded thoughts the value of being in an article that gets you thinking more about and adding to that thought.

Next thing you know you’ve got an article for each thought. At least…

BONUS Tip: Keep a collection of those new random and strategic thoughts in one place. I like to keep them in a draft article here on Medium. This becomes an ever growing list so that when you get enough of them, you’ve got another 1 + 10 = 11 article set.

Easy Title Tip: “10 Amazing and Randomly Strategic Thoughts about [niche topic].”

And here’s 10 (more) Title Ideas on me…

Giving credit where credit is due: I got the idea for the Randomly Strategic Template from a columnist I read as a kid. His name was Sidney J. Harris and his columns would occasionally have the title “Things I Learned While Looking Up Other Things.” Thanks Sidney…
