How to Take Learning to a New Level
Anki is a flashcard app that uses Active Recall and Spaced repetition
Active Recall is scientifically proven to work by actively trying to remember something while the brain is actively thinking about it, as opposed to just reading through it, which is passive and doesn’t work.
Space repetition is also scientifically proven to mean learning in intervals, which means repeating the content just before forgetting it, for which the forgetting curve is helpful to understand this process.
Anki puts these two learning methods into one app which is free for Android and Windows but unfortunately costs for Apple. I highly recommend buying the app on Apple anyway.
How Anki works
Anki is a digital flashcard app, when you repeat the card you actively stimulate your brain to think about what is on the back of the flashcard (Active Recall), and Anki’s algorithm is so good that it displays the cards just before you forget them (Spaced repetition).
Conclusion
It is definitely worth trying Anki to gain your own experience and you can use it in any subject where you need to learn.
