How To Survive A Spiritual Awakening

Maybe you have had several unexplained events happen to you? An out of body experience? A string of paranormal experiences? Or even keep finding small feathers or coins around your home?

Spiritual Awakenings are different for everyone. Sometimes it feels like you developed a deeper consciousness and are suddenly more aware of how the world works. It might seem like things you once enjoyed doing do not satisfy you anymore.

You could find yourself questioning who you are, where you fit inside the world, why you are here, and what the point of life is. You could be wanting to connect deeper to your purpose, develop your intuition, or spend more time with yourself or in nature.

For many of us going through some a transformational change, it is common to find ourselves questioning the purpose of the Universe

When we try to navigate any change, the unknown can be fearful, questionable, and obscured. Spiritual Awakenings are both frightening and intoxicating.

I hope that the following 5 Tips will help you through your spiritual awakening, and give you a sense of ease. They helped me.

1. Trust Yourself

The more my consciousness grew I was afraid. I did not know what was happening or where the path I was heading down would take me. I questioned the process a lot. I was scared to take steps forward, despite knowing that there was an answer on the other side.

I started to listen to myself more. I tapped into my body. I relied heavily on my intuition. I took small steps at first connecting to the answers that came forward.

Once I began to uncover these answers, I began to build trust in myself more. One of the most important things I learned on this journey so far is that you know yourself better than anyone else.

To do this, I spent time in meditation and I journaled. I asked the Universe for guidance. Answers slowly came to me. The key to moving forward and getting the answers you so desperately desire is to trust yourself and not be afraid of where you lead yourself.

2. Connect Deeper To The Universe & Your Spirit Guides

Spirit Guides are teachers, souls that come from Spirit to help guide you. We all have access to them. They are always around us, supporting us, and helping us.

They can send you signs to lead you in the right direction. Like a set of numbers you see constantly or a song on the radio that you hear often, and at random times. They help answer your questions to the unknown to create a world that is known.

It helped me a lot knowing that I had Spirit Guides working with the Universe to support me. Sometimes when I talk to my Spirit Guides it feels like I am having a conversation with myself in my head. Writing and meditation also help to build a connection with them.

Spirit guides are never there to hurt you. They are here to guide you.

3. Connect With Other Like Minded People.

It is easy to feel alone when going through a spiritual awakening. It can be eye-opening to see who out of your network supports you on your journey. Many of my so-called friends shifted out of my life as I went through my spiritual awakening. You may find the same thing happening to you.

As you are going through your spiritual awakening, you are also changing. Ideas of who you thought you were and who you want to be as a person may be different from you.

What helped me on this journey was to connect with others who had similar ideas and beliefs as me. I joined different meetup groups and began to build relationships within these groups. I attended workshops and personal development classes.

It helped me find a way to explore my beliefs, values, and ideas without feeling that I was judged. It also helped me understand and answer more questions about my spiritual awakening. And it helped me gain life long friends.

4. Find a Positive Way to Release Your Emotions

If you are going through a spiritual awakening, you are probably experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions. Maybe you are starting to feel deeply and are finding yourself more sensitive than before.

It is important to find positive ways to release these emotions and not let them overpower us. It may be easier to let these emotions build up inside than to process them through and release them.

Connecting to our emotions on a deeper level is a natural part of a spiritual awakening. When we let our emotions build up inside, it blocks us from seeing our true essence, the core of who we are. Finding positive ways to release your emotions can help you avoid being in a spiritual bypass.

To help me with this, I started to go see a counselor who was familiar with helping individuals go through their spiritual awakening. By going to see her, I was able to talk about my thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It gave me a positive outlet to express myself, and build trust within myself.

5. Learn How To Ground Yourself.

Sometimes as we awaken further, we can develop spiritual gifts as our intuition builds. It can be both exciting and overwhelming.

Imagine finding out that you can communicate with Spirit, talk to dead people, feel emotions, and or predict the future! These are some of my abilities. It was hard to understand what was going on at first. I attended intuitive development classes that helped to ground me.

Some ways you can work on grounding yourself are:

  • Meditation
  • Calming music.
  • Lighting candles.
  • Using rocks or crystals.
  • Being out in nature

If you want to learn more about how to build your grounding skills, try watching YouTube videos on how to ground yourself. I also have several pieces of training on this topic in my Facebook group.
