Our forebears had lots of ways to keep produce fresh, but with plastic and supermarkets many of these tricks are in danger of being forgotten.

Since researching and discovering this tip, my broccoli has lasted longer in the fridge. Considering that it is one of the only vegetables liked by everyone in the family, that’s a priority for me!

After purchasing or harvesting your broccoli, simply rinse well and wrap in a wet tea towel.

I’ve found my broccoli lasts at least twice as long before going floppy and yellow!

Just remember to refresh the tea towel every few days as the fridge will dry it out!
