How To Stop Running Away And Have Resilience
Sometimes in life, we get distracted by many things like reckless spending, or working too much. Even as a homebody I still find myself working and worrying so much. Stressing about credit card debt, student loans, and finding a job in my career.
I really have to look in the mirror sometimes and ask myself when have I actually done something good for myself.
Like:
Going out to eat at my favorite restaurant
Get a massage
Purchase something I’ve been really wanting
When Have I done something that makes me laugh, brings me peace, or joy?
I’m currently looking to become a 3D game artist and the gaming industry is very competitive and not easy to break into off the gate to begin with.
Sometimes I constantly overwork myself, working on projects, creating content online, and trying to be super good at all of them, but I do not take breaks for myself.
I find a lot of times when I do this, I’m burned out and my energy is low.
I also struggle with perfectionism and it’s not always easy to accept critical feedback or rejection.
When I receive rejection, I internalize it.
Instead of internalizing it, we use it to get better instead.
One thing I read about the other day was about developing resilience or the spirit of resilience. It talked about how spirituality is essential to building this resilience.
Here are 3 ways to do that:
Cultivate hope
Practice critical awareness
Let go of numbing or in other words, ignoring the pain and discomfort
I know how difficult that can be in the moment, but trust me, it's so relieving in the end.
We can develop resilience in times of need, pain, or discomfort, by having faith and connecting to our true selves.
We can add balance to our lives
It’s okay to take mental breaks
Do something good for yourself, you’ll serve others better.
