How to Stay Healthy During The Holidays

The holiday season is a time for celebration, relaxation, and rest. Also, it’s the time to meet with relatives and friends and when many people share their privileges with others.
More importantly, it’s the time of the year when people can take a break and rest their bodies and minds.
Health is wealth, and wealth is health.
Staying healthy is more important to many people during the holiday. We all know the saying goes, “Health is wealth.” Health is wealth because you can’t do anything else without good health.
It’s also true wealth is health because people with means tend to get the best medical treatments and diagnoses — money talks in healthcare.
How to stay healthy during the holidays
I. Make a plan
Plan for the holidays. It gives you ideas on what to do and what not to do. It’s like going on a trip- I plan to get a plane ticket, book a hotel, and pack my bags.
Make a plan and have your to-do list for the holidays.
II. Self-discipline
Self-discipline means saying yes or no to yourself, others, and things.
For example, I was done with my charity giving and went to the store a few days ago to buy snacks. At the check-out counter, a friendly cashier repeatedly asked me for donations with different voices and free offers.
I politely answered no to all her requests because I made a plan before leaving my house.
Without a plan and self-discipline, I could’ve gotten caught up with false empathy and compassion.
III. Keep to your routine.
Studies suggest heart disease is prevalent during the holiday season because of high levels of stress. Is it the winter months or the holidays?
Our health routine can help us reduce stress and stay healthy and alive during and after the holidays.
What is your health routine? I walk and read every day. I’m creative with walking, and I do it anytime or anywhere. For example, I walk in my house or walk to the store.
Go ahead and do those things you usually do before the holidays as much as you can.
