How to Stay Focused, Centered, and Organized on the Spiritual Path

we can sometimes find ourselves stagnant and discouraged on this walk.

If you are just starting your spiritual journey, or maybe you’ve been on it for a while, it’s okay to feel overwhelmed and frustrated from time to time.

The problem begins, however, when we find ourselves more overwhelmed and frustrated than we feel nourished and replenished with our work.

Spirituality is about evolving, but lately, it seems we’ve forgotten the core meaning of spirituality and lost the true essence of what it means to live a spiritual life.

Certainly, spirituality has become more of a show, aesthetic, and a burden than a way of life- and truth.

I think being overwhelmed, stagnant and just all out disconnected is something very common in the space these days and yet not a lot of people are talking about it.

The reason for that is simple: Everyone wants to look like they have it all together, especially when it comes to being spiritual.

But where does this leave the ones who truly need direction? How can the ones who are feeling lost gain a sense of peace and understanding? How can those of us who are struggling find our center again?

Let’s dive a little deeper into why we get overwhelmed, unorganized and unfocused on our spiritual paths and what we can do to combat this.

Relying Too much on Outside advice

We are in the information and internet stage of life, which comes with both blessings and curses.

On one hand, we can find endless information on just about any subject we care about.

On the other hand, there are about Ten billion different viewpoints on said subject.

This can leave one so very anxious about what steps to take.

Imagine going into a room and asking for advice on a particular topic and every person in that room gives you a different opinion or way of doing the thing you wanted advice on, how could you honestly know what way to go when there are so many options to choose from?

I think somewhere along the lines we have become obsessed with the information and all the dos and don’ts of spirituality. that we forgot how to be spiritual (which is our true inherent nature.)

Being your true, authentic, powerful self IS spirituality.

(Spirituality is NOT about asking someone else permission to be something but permitting yourself to embrace that something that you already are…. religion gave us the paradigm that we need a middleman- while we fearfully wait for someone else to give us the way to our spiritual truth.

Unfortunately, most of us take that old paradigm into our spiritual life.)

My advice: Spend less time scanning the internet for “spells and rituals” and sit with yourself.

Ask your intuition for guidance and see what comes up. Practice cultivating a relationship with your higher daemon (or higher self.)

The majority of information you will ever need is already stored within your subconscious mind.

So, spend more time cultivating a relationship with the part of you that already knows what you are seeking.

Unclear of your direction

You would not get in a car and start driving without knowing where you are going and how to get there, would you?

So why start a spiritual journey before knowing first what you need?

I think most of us at some point forget that this is a journey and not a rat race against time.

(I speak to myself as well).

Once again, I can definably blame the internet for this one.

There are so many paths to take within the spiritual space-SO many facets of spirituality we enter into.

Do we want to take the light path, the dark path, or somewhere in between?

Do we want to self-initiate or be initiated formerly or not deal with initiation at all?

Are we going into Wicca or witchcraft?

Are we going to be solo or work with a group, coven, or under a teacher?

There are so many paths and faucets and roads to go down.

Many of us do not pace ourselves and we start trying to learn and experiment with any and everything we see.

Having a clear goal of what you want to accomplish will help you double down on the spiritual paths you will take.

Note-You can and most likely will, go down several paths throughout your spiritual journey and there is nothing wrong with that.

I was at one point a light-worker until I fell in love with the darker arts… So, it’s very likely you will go down a few different paths.

The problem arises when one takes on too many paths too soon.

Taking on too many spiritual projects, disciplines, initiations, systems, schools, and teachings can leave one feeling even more drained and empty.

So, the key here is to pace yourself and dedicate some time to learning spiritual principles or practices that are aligned with that particular goal.

If the information you are learning sits well with you, through self-initiation and rituals you can dedicate yourself to a path aligned with those spiritual disciplines.

Once you feel like you learned and got empowered by those paths, practices, or principles and you feel called to move on to something else… Move on, and this is how you will evolve in the spiritual path.

You can also decide to move on while continuing to incorporate those past rituals into your newer systems and build upon them as your spiritual knowledge grows (that’s usually what happens anyway.)

It all starts with knowing and understanding the goal you wish to accomplish; this is your destination guide… The goal is always the most important thing in any journey or path.

Not enough patience

There are many more things I can say on why we may get overwhelmed, distracted, and unorganized on the spiritual path, but in my fair opinion, I think the two mentioned above are the bigger ones.

This last point, however, pretty much brings it all home.

A huge factor in why we may get overwhelmed, unorganized, and distracted is because we don’t have enough patience in ourselves and the practices, we are doing…

Some of us (again…myself included) naturally got into spirituality because we needed a powerful immediate miracle- only to see that this spiritual stuff was W.O.R.K!!!

Do miracles happen? They do!

But most of the time we still will have to put in the work for the things we want, yes even in spirituality.

Now I said this a few times before, but yes, I am going to say it again…

I blame the internet!!!

See, people on the internet have a knack for showing the good side up meaning they only want to show you things when it’s going well.

We see some of our favorite spiritual leaders in the community and we wish we could be just like them, without considering all the things they had to go through to get to that level.

These gurus that inspire people on the internet had to get most of what they have through blood, sweat, and tears and we just happen to see the rewards of it.

Instead of being inspired by what we would have (eventually with years of dedicated hard work), we want that kind of life right now!

I know because I’m guilty of it too.

We get discouraged, overwhelmed, and impatient.

We hear the stories of psychic powers, Astro projection, and holy visits from the Gods.

We want these things to happen to us.

We begin to get discouraged and impatient with our practices.

In reality, most of us can’t even stick with a ritual long enough to see if it works.

Did you know most of the rituals you do will not work on the first go?

Mastering magic and or spiritual practices takes time and a consistent building up of energy.

In the spiritual space, time is a virtue.

Intention, practice, dedication, and time will be the driving force behind all your spiritual power.

If you can muster up the patience with yourself and your work, with diligence, practice, and consistency, everything that you seek will be yours. You will grow profoundly on the spiritual path while remaining connected and grounded in your work.

Pick something this week, a spiritual practice, and dedicate at least 90 days to it, giving it all you’ve got.

Come back here in 90 days and let me know the changes you’ve experienced within 90 days.

I’m serious, do it and see!

So that’s it, to remain focused, centered, and organized on the spiritual path do these three things:

  1. Cultivate a relationship with your higher self and intuition, while relying on outside advice less.
  2. Get clear on your direction and goals -What do you want to accomplish? Then cultivate your spiritual goals and practices around that.
  3. Be patient with yourself and your practices-

Dedicate 90 days to your most important spiritual practices- giving it all you’ve got and learning as much as you possibly can about them- see how it will transform your life (before calling it quits.)

You do these three things and I promise you will be moving up the spiritual ladder quickly, more centered, happy, organized, and connected to your journey.

Infernal Blessings to you all!
