How to start loving MONDAY.
The apprehension you feel on Sunday night as Monday rapidly approaches, along with the anticipation of facing whatever lies ahead, can be overwhelming.
I personally call it Monday Syndrome.
Monday Syndrome often leads to a downward mood on Sunday or even earlier, manifesting as a diminished appetite or overindulging in response to the impending Monday dread.
It can also result in a reluctance to engage socially due to the mental and emotional toll associated with Monday's Syndrome.
I’ve personally experienced Monday Syndrome, largely owing to the job I had to face every week.
I toiled in an environment that drained me emotionally, physically, and mentally on a daily basis.
The prospect of Monday was disheartening because Friday seemed so distant.
Knowing I had to go through 5 cycles of a 9 to 5 shift where I was being emotionally and mentally taxed, felt like a heavy weight on my shoulders I couldn’t lift.
This year, a significant event has transformed my perception of Mondays.
I secured a new job that genuinely excites me, a role that enables me to leverage my skills, and I’m part of an incredible team that values and uplifts me rather than diminishing my worth.
Now, I eagerly anticipate Mondays, knowing that I get to engage in work I’m passionate about every week.
This shift in my professional life has had a profound impact on my overall outlook.
I feel content, and brimming with energy throughout the week, and those around me can visibly discern a positive change in my emotional and mental well-being.
Here are some ways to start loving MONDAY:
1. Think About A Career Change.
If you find yourself filled with regret each and every Monday as you head to your current job or workplace, it might be time to contemplate a career change to a place where you eagerly anticipate every Monday.
Use each Monday as an opportunity to explore new career prospects and gather information on how you can transition from your current employment situation to one that truly excites you.
2. Small Changes can make a BIG impact.
Your Mondays feel monotonous, consider changing up your routine.
Try a new route to work, introduce a different breakfast, or wear something that makes you feel confident.
Small changes can add excitement to your day!
3. Self Care Monday.
Make Monday the day you participate in an activity for self-care.
I personally know someone who would get their haircut on Mondays. This made him look forward to that day, as well as feel great for the rest of the week!
Start your Monday with something enjoyable or exciting.
It could be as simple as having a special breakfast, listening to your favorite music, or planning a fun lunch with a colleague. Having something to look forward to can make Mondays more enjoyable.
4. Relationship Partner.
Discover someone special to look forward to seeing on Monday, be it a family member, a close friend, or a cherished companion.
The reason I hold a fondness for Mondays is the prospect of reuniting with someone I hold dear every week.
Even amid a bustling work schedule or a challenging day at the office, the presence of this beloved individual each Monday has the power to make me forget it’s a Monday in the first place.
5. Set Purpose Goals.
If you have a specific goal, a destination you’re striving for in life, or a dream you’re determined to realize, designate every Monday as the day you commit to making progress toward achieving it.
Take a few minutes on Sunday evening to set clear and achievable goals for the week.
Knowing what you want to accomplish can give you a sense of purpose and motivation to start your workweek.
Please feel free to subscribe! Would love to engage with you as well!
