How to Set A Personal Boundary
Be transparent with who you are and what you desire.

Why do people create a boundary?
Boundary helps us with self-discipline and teaches others how to treat us. Boundary setting is a way of life for many people and a struggle for others. Also, a proper boundary is a learned behavior and a skill anyone can learn.
Learn and practice how to set boundaries:
1. Be transparent with who you are and what you desire.
Write down your strengths, weaknesses, and, more importantly, your core beliefs. Find out and understand your likes and dislikes.
2. Self-awareness helps many people set proper boundaries.
I rarely eat junk food and wouldn't say I like its investment. I was tested with a fantastic cookie investment. I reflected for days and made the decision not to buy the stock. Why? The boundary-setting pointed me to my core values.
3. Say NO to yourself. Charity begins at home.
Hold yourself accountable for your actions. Practice your boundary with yourself first and then shares them with others. For example, one of my boundaries is no telephone communication after 10 p.m. I choose to avoid making or answering the non-emergency call after 10 p.m. If you can say No to yourself, it is easier to say it to others.
4. Teach or show others— action speaks.
Many people will make mistakes or indirectly test your boundaries again and again. A relationship is a two-way street; I work hard and invest in my friendship.
I don't waste my time or energy with a one-sided relationship. I'm honest with "friends" who think I should continue contacting them when they choose not to contact me.
For example, my friend's mother-in-law always stops by their house without an invitation or a call. One day, my friend was frank with her MIL and respectfully explained her house rule. Both women's relationships grew stronger by respecting each other boundaries.
5. Boundary creates happiness and respect in our relationship.
We can show our family, boss, and colleagues how to treat us. How? Be on time for your assignment, take your lunch break, be assertive with your needs, and accommodate others when you can.
Remember, as always, without boundaries, we are everything to everyone. Our time, energy, and money are for everyone to slice as they want. Be wise; set an edge today!
Currently, our proper boundary setting can decrease the spread of the pandemic.
Help yourself grow.
