How to Sell Your Product in 10 Easy Steps
Use these 10 easy steps to gain interest, present, and sell your products

Online advertising can be a hard market. With attention spans getting shorter and shorter and your future customers being constantly bombarded with advertising, you need to catch their attention fast, hold it, and cross the finish line by making the sale. I will show you an easy 10 step process to make you a better marketer and salesman.
Catch their attention
The best way to engage your audience is to make a shocking or bold statement or to present them with a question. You need to snap them out of their hypnosis or dazed state that they are currently in at the moment.
Start with “85% of the people hate their jobs”. I did not make this up. Google it right now. Search for “how many people hate their jobs”. I can wait. I said make a bold or shocking statement, not lie. Before you make that statement make sure it is true. If somebody checks and with Google around everybody is smart, it better be true. Lie to your audience and you will lose them. Not only that, you probably hate your job so I am already resonating with you.
The other way to engage your audience quickly is to start with a question that gets them thinking about their lives. Something along the lines of “Is it harder and harder to get by, trading your time for money at your day job?”. Now doesn’t that just wake up somebody that just got off of work, rushed home to dinner, barely spent any time with the children before they went to bed, and is now relaxing on the couch numbing out watching YouTube? I think we just woke our audience up.
State the problem and why it is a big deal
We are not here to state the little problem they have. We need to show them that this will lead to larger problems if they do not do something about it.
Let us go back to the guy on the couch. He is working long hours, barely sees his family, and doesn’t have any motivation or energy to do anything except sit on the couch and watch YouTube on his iPhone.
If he keeps this up, his children will eventually hate him because he is never around and misses all of their events. The wife might start looking for a better partner since he is never around and has no time. Because he has no time or energy he may even drop dead at sixty without knowing his grandchildren, you know, from the children that hate him. You might even want to mention that if he does not change his life soon, he will be going down a path that is regretful and lonely.
The choice they are forced into
The solution needs to be Door Number Three. They are stuck between continuing down the path they are currently on, working long hours, minimal time with the family, and no energy or finding their own solution.
Going back to school isn’t much of a choice. That is even more time away from the family, costs lots of money, and if he keeps working and going to school at night, where is he going to get the energy for that undertaking?
Finding a better job? That takes more of your time away. Between writing resumes, researching, and actually going to the job interviews, where is he going to find the time? Even if he does get a new job, he is still working for someone else and who knows, the new job might turn out worse than the old one.
Feeling cornered with no way out
Now is the time to hit them on the emotional level. Talk about them thinking they have no choices and being stuck in this position for the rest of their lives. It does not matter which choice he makes it will never solve the problem. This causes frustration and anger. A feeling of being trapped. He is damned if he does and he is damned if he does not.
Remember Door Number Three? This is where you transition to the hope that Door Number Three is the better alternative. Door Number Three will lead them to happiness and enlightenment. It is already becoming a better world.
Introduce the solution
The cavalry has arrived. This is where you show them your solution and how it will help them achieve their goals. Tell them about how you will help them accomplish their goals with step-by-step guidance and mentoring. Easy to follow steps for learning new skills that are self-paced and maybe a community of like-minded people to help them.
Don’t stop here. Facts tell, Stories sell. Tell them how this can also solve their emotional needs. More time for the family. Working for yourself instead of a boss. Taking back control of your life. Working for your dreams instead of working for someone else’s dream.
It is very important in this phase that you do not promise a result. Anybody that guarantees a result is lying. The success comes from within. You can offer information, mentoring, knowledge, and new skill sets, but if he is not ready to make the commitment and put all of this to work for himself, he will fail. You can lead a horse to water, but you can not make it drink.
Establish credibility
This is the part where you introduce yourself and give them the most important reasons why you have the solution to their problem. This is where you establish credibility and expertise in this area. You sell yourself and your product as the solution.
This is not your bragging session. The customer does not care what you accomplished. You need to concentrate on them and what they can accomplish if they follow your program. It is nice, it worked for you; it is even better if you can show how it can work for them. Here is where you lead into the proof.
Proof
Here is where testimonials can help. Show them how other people using your program have improved their lives and gotten results. People are afraid of being the first.
Remember when you were at the swimming pool and somebody thought it was a good idea to jump off the 10-meter platform? You were a bunch of scared little children atop the 10-meter platform, not jumping but also not wanting to climb down the ladder again. Then somebody jumped. Everybody peeked over the edge and saw Johnny survived the jump and if Johnny can do it, so can I. Once somebody shows you it can be done, doing it becomes easier.
Show them what they are receiving
This is where you show off the product. Make sure to include the features, but more importantly, you need to show them the benefits. That is what they are really here for. It is nice that it is shiny and fast and really cool looking, but what is it going to do for them. Show them how they can have a better life with your product.
The reason to act
Now you are going to show them how their life will be better tomorrow if they act today. Also, show them how their life will be if they do not act. Do they really want to go back to the old, dull, soul-sucking life from before or do they want that better tomorrow?
Here you might even start a little up-selling if your sales funnel is in place. If you have more and better to show them, mention it. Use the same emotional triggers to reveal how the next product can improve their lives even more.
Mention the benefits. Act now and get a discount on something you know you will be buying in a few weeks or months because the program is that good. Some people are already all in and will be disappointed if they find out there was an even better package at a great price if only you enrolled on day one.
A little up selling never hurt, just do not make it a forced event. If the products in your sales funnel are good, they will recognize the value.
Ask for the Order
You have just spent all this time communicating with your audience about the great solution you have for their problem. Some of your audience has already seen the benefits and are in the program or bought your product.
Believe it or not, there will be some people that need a little extra push. For those people, just ask for the order. Reiterate the benefits they will receive. Do not beat around the bush. Either they see the benefits and are in or they are out. Tell them exactly what they must do to get what they not only want, but what they need.
Tell them they need to click on this button, submit their email address, enter their payment information, and in a few quick minutes, if it is a digital product, the product will be in their inbox. Tell them about your 30-day guarantee and everything else that ensures they get a fair chance to change their mind.
They are at the point, if they see the value, they will jump in with both feet. If they do not see the value, they can leave and hopefully not regret taking action.
I lied, it is not that easy
Going through the 10 steps is difficult. There is work involved in each step that needs to be done to get your message across to your audience. What is easy is having a framework that you can use every time to make sure you are delivering your message in the best way possible.
So, use the framework, do the prep work and go out and effectively connect with your audience.
