MONEY TIPS & HACKS

The Most Underused Money Saving Hack

At this point, most of us have heard of — or maybe even tried — the side hustle taking the internet by storm: dropshipping.

Technically speaking, dropshipping is the act of distributing goods through non-traditional channels. In plain English, the store selling the item doesn’t actually keep it in stock, opting to instead purchase the products as necessary from the manufacturer when orders come in.

This technique has become incredibly popular in recent years, with many social media influencers like Biaheza and Sebastian Ghiorghiu garnering millions of channel views from boasting about their success with this method.

Cheaply made goods have been a booming industry in Asia for decades, but with the rise of the internet — which gives nearly unlimited access to such goods — the ability for retailers to make incredible profits has skyrocketed.

That means you’re likely paying to line to pockets of dropshippers everywhere.

So how do you avoid those markup costs for the products you want? The answer is simple: Google’s reverse image lookup.

All you have to do is identify the product photo on the website you were going to purchase from, right-click on it, and select “search Google for image” (see below for example photos).

Immediately, a new Google tab will open up and you can select the “shopping” option from the top bar to see the other stores that sell the item.

My experience

The other day I was looking for a pet hair/lint roller, and I came across the ChomChom Roller on Amazon for $33.95. That seemed pretty expensive to me, so I pulled this trick out of my hat and got to work.

Here is the item on Amazon, note the price!
This is what it will look like when you right-click on the photo, note the “search Google for image” option.
And here are just some of my incredible results!

It really is that simple.

Within seconds, I had dozens of search results (not all pictured) that saved me up to 98%!

So, I ordered my item for next to nothing, and now I’m just waiting for it to arrive, which may take some time.

That’s one annoying downside to this method: the shipping time.

If you have experienced ordering from Aliexpress, you’ll know how slow the shipping can be. So if you need the order immediately, this trick isn’t for you. But, if you’re willing to wait a few weeks to save some major coin, give this a shot!

Happy hunting, everyone!
