This Is How I Save Hundreds of Dollars on My Grocery Bill
These homemade cleaning products are so easy and cheap to make!
Wondering how to save hundreds of dollars on your grocery bill? Easy! Just make your own homemade cleaning products! They actually have reusable toilet paper and reusable paper towels, but we won’t be trying any of that! I have made and tried these products that I am about to recommend.
Zote Soap
Zote soap can do everything — not only is it notorious for its main use as a detergent for your laundry but for numerous other, interesting uses. The soap bar’s affordable price and multiple uses make it a highly sought-after product to keep around your home. Here is a list of the many uses of Zote:
Laundry Detergent
It’s a cheaper alternative to traditional detergents. Grate one bar of white or pink Zote soap using a grater, or you can grind it inside the food processor. Blend it with one box of baking soda and one box of Borax to create your own powder detergent! Use a tablespoon for lighter loads and 2 Tbsp. for larger loads.

Stain Remover
Zote may be used to remove stains. Just wet the soap bar and then rub the stain until it is fully covered. Next, allow the piece of clothing to sit for ten minutes to allow the stain time to come out. Lastly, just toss the clothing into the washing machine with your regular load of laundry.

Fabric Softener
The tallow and citronella in Zote soften fabrics. Slice a tiny chunk (the size of a golf ball) from some white or pink soap. Put it into a sock and throw it into the washing machine close to the wash cycle’s completion. Socks allow the soap to distribute evenly over all the clothing, which makes them soft.
Cleans Brushes
Zote’s fatty content cleans your brushes without having to dry them out. It works wonderfully for both make-up and paintbrushes! Slice a pink bar into little chunks and place them into a pot. With cold water, fill up the pot until it is right above the soap. Let it come to a boil, and wait until the Zote becomes pliable enough to push into a paste. Pour all of the excess liquid out, and mix the paste with a Tbsp. of safflower oil. Squish the paste into a metal or plastic container. Swirl the grimy brushes on the soap and then rinse using water to get rid of the dirt.
Repellant for Insects
Zote has citronella as one of its ingredients, a natural insect repellant. The citronella scent is really distinct right after you open up one of the soap bars. Placing a recently opened soap bar by the bed, or carrying a tiny piece of it when outdoors, does an excellent job of keeping bugs away.
Dish and Stove Cleaner
Boil some Zote bar shreds into the water to make a degreaser. It won’t get the harshest stains out as traditional dish soap will, but it is useful for daily washing. You can either wet a sponge on a Zote bar or dissolved flakes in hot water to create liquid dish-cleaning soap. Boil some grated soap in warm water. Add one cup of vinegar and add stove burners or dishes that have heavy grease. Allow it to sit off of the heat for 3 minutes and then rinse.
Deodorizer

Take advantage of Zote’s strong scent to eliminate foul smells. Put a chunk of soap inside those yucky gym sneakers. Also, it is great to leave a few chunks of soap inside the closet or at the bottom of the hamper.
Shaving Cream
Zote’s light foam makes a great shaving primer. Just wet and glide the bar delicately over the area you are shaving.
Fabuloso Cleaner
According to their website, Fabuloso is a multi-purpose household cleaner that has a multi-action formula used to clean the majority of hard surfaces. It may be used for virtually any hard surface in pretty much any room of the house, due to it having a neutral pH; therefore, bring Fabuloso any place you want to remove grease, grime, or dirt. The multi-purpose cleaner is also safe for use on sealed wood.
Fabuloso: How to Use
Its website lists some recommended uses:
· To clean your floors, blend one-quarter cup in one gallon of water.
· For walls, bathrooms, or other surfaces, use it on a sponge to get clean.
· Pour right onto a sponge to de-grease non-porous, hard surfaces.

Here are 5 more uses for Fabuloso:
Place some into a spray bottle with some water
For a fast spot clean of the cabinet exteriors or walls, add one-eighth of a cup of cleaner into a spray bottle that is full of water.
Remove fabric stains
Spray some of the Fabuloso solutions onto a stain, add a couple of drops of hydrogen peroxide, and then blot out the stain using a wet washcloth before tossing it into the washer.
Clean greasy appliances or backsplashes
For greasy tile, microwaves, or stove tops, use that Fabuloso spray you just made! Stand 6” — 8” away and then spray on the surface, and wipe clean using a microfiber cloth or sponge.
Toilet cleaner
Use this multi-purpose cleaner instead of toilet cleaner or bleach to freshen the toilet bowl. Pour a couple of cups of multi-purpose cleaner into the toilet bowl, and then brush it clean using a toilet brush, and then flush.
Garbage can freshener
Since it’s a deodorizer, it is perfect for cleaning out a trash can. Empty the trash can, pour in one or two cups of Fabuloso, add a couple of cups of warm water, and then swirl it around with a sponge to get rid of any stinky, stubborn dirt. To finish, simply rinse the trash can out using clean water.
Make Your Own Homemade Deodorant

This deodorant actually works better than my clinical strength Dove deodorant! I applied it in the afternoon, worked all day and night, came home and took a shower, and washed it away, then in the morning my armpits still smelled like lavender…with no foul body odor! Amazing!
Instructions
Ingredients:
· 4oz. jar (or deodorant dispenser found on Amazon)
· 4 Tbsp. coconut oil (I bought the liquid version, but you can buy the solid version and melt it a little in the microwave to soften it)
· 4 Tbsp. Arrowroot Starch
· 2 Tbsp. Baking soda
· Essential oil (optional)
Directions:
Add arrowroot starch and baking soda to a small bowl, then add coconut oil. You do not have to add the essential oil if you do not want to, but I find that a little scent is good. I chose to add lavender essential oil, but you can choose your favorite scent. You will add 25 drops of the essential oil. After everything is mixed up, allow it to thicken for 30 minutes. Store and keep in refrigerator at all times.
