How to use comments and lists to grow a bigger Medium Audience.

You are writing on medium for a certain time (a couple of days or weeks) and you are not getting enough traffic on your profile.

Reads and views are not there, and people are not commenting or clapping.

I’ve been there.

Before I explain my technique I should ask you these questions :

• Is your read ratio low?
• Have you published constantly for a certain time?
• Are you using the right tags?

If your answer is no to one of these questions. Review your stories and your content.

How to increase your traffic?

We’ll use comments and the most important thing is lists.

Go to a story in your niche.

I recommend you to write and follow the same niche. This way you will see how other people are writing and what they are writing.

Find a story you love. And read it, that’s how I do it. Then leave a comment (meaningful one) like this one :

I’m only leaving comments on stories I liked. But you can use this technique with all stories.

Then add it to a list of stories. That’s a really important part. The writer will get a notification that you added his story and he will certainly read yours.

Profs that work?

I left only 150 comments (half of them are answers to my readers). Don’t abuse commenting, if you will, your profile will get a shadow ban.

And added 60 stories to a list. In a lapse of 2 weeks.

My results?

I grew up from 10 to 80 reads a day in a week.

Now I've stopped commenting and doing that for a certain time and my traffic continued to increase.

You only should get a little boost to start.

My little read decrease may scare you — that’s just because It’s morning for me and people didn't have the time to read my stories for now.
