How To Report The Fake/Clone Account, If You Are Unsure, Which is Which.

In one of my previous posts, I mentioned how to find the Fake/Clone Account

Today, one of our new writers is being attacked by a Clone account, he only has 180 followers, posted 25 posts, and has been a Medium member since March 2024.

For anyone that would say just report it, does not get the whole picture.

How would you feel if there was another you out there spamming and scamming? Even if it just hurt one person out of thousands, that is a no good on you and your name.

I’m referring to Denis Sab, this is the real one. And his Post about it here:

This post is for all the new writers and existing writers that anyone can be targeted and you should always be aware of clone accounts.

They are attacking the most vulnerable part of the community and are the moving driver of future medium growth, Medium Staff, please be aware of this. If new writers are being constantly attacked by this, do you know what will happen?

Discouragement, lose of faith, trust, and soon the whole 9-yard of writing on Medium.

Existing writers who have been here for a while are pretty numb to this already, so it is a mental game, stay strong, new writers.

Trust is being destroyed by the minute if you do not act or have a layer of security check in place before anyone can open up an account. (with higher standards bring quality users)

Protect your most valuable asset first not worry about a new REAL writer's ease of sign-up process, the one that will stay will sign up no matter what.

The clone will give up because they have their next target in line already.

Understand that due to the flexibility of the platform,(mainly the editing part), it will be a challenge to put in process in between, that is why the sign-up process is the first gatekeeper.

I have mentioned how to find the Fake/Clone account here:

Idk, if I should @Buster Benson this time, but it seems to be an issue that needs to be addressed right away.

Real Account: Denis Sab

Fake/Clone Account: Denis Sab (I’m also sending this message to the clone, if you are a human, please stop)

This is the Fake account’s tag: @jayohoy392

How to report them without interfering with Denis is a good practice as I’m not sure if that is the reason why some accounts were suspended in the first place.

And Here’s How

First, you go to the fake account and select Report this author, there is no reason for someone to have the same photo with the same name, Red Flag.

Then, select what you feel the message is misleading to then report

And Confirmed that the clone account is reported successfully.

In the midst of this, I remembered Lea Bardot is most likely the most cloned writer I have seen because the spammer knows she is very popular.

I’ll show you where is the Clone located for her too.

I can only say that they either love you, hate or your clones are having success, which is bad news.

Thanks for giving your full attention to this one.
