Curation — #ILLUMINATION

How to Be Abundant in Life

The blessings come from a giving heart.

Bill Gosset and I. From the author’s collection.

When I walked across the USA from Chicago to LA along Historic Route 66, I came across many people who made generous contributions to my cause. I will never forget Bill Gosset because he changed my perspective on giving.

I said to him, as I did to everyone who contributed, “God bless you, Sir,” to which he responded emphatically, “He Just Did.”

Wow!

One of the guiding principles of our #ILLUMINATION community is to share what we find of value with others. By doing this, we will receive blessings threefold. First, through the benefits that we received by reading these great pieces of work, and again by supporting the excellent writers whose work positively impacted us. But more importantly, by allowing others to benefit from it who may not have otherwise seen the stories.

With that background in mind, here are five stories that made an impact on me this week. It would be a lie to say that these were the only ones that did so. However, I am choosing to highlight these, just because…

Speaking of adding value, here is a masterpiece in support of the idea from one of my new favorite writers, Julia E Hubbel.

René Junge is a humongous supporter of #ILLUMINATION, besides being an excellent writer with innovative ideas. Here is one where he talks about reviving your old stories without violating Medium’s rules on duplicate content while providing value to the platform with fresh content.

Playfulness and JOY will always get my attention. Top that up with a catchy phrase from Mr. Rogers, and I am all over it. Thank you, Michele Thill, for this beautiful story.

Dawn-Renée Rice wrote a touching story about what she went through when her life came to abrupt and shocking change, and she handled it and what she learned in the process in the hope that it will help us deal with the current situation. I am amazed by the diversity of stories that the #ILLUMINATION writers have to share.

Kathryn A. LeRoy, Ph.D., who I found out lives not too far from where I am, took the Serendipity challenge issued by Dr. Mehmet Yildiz. She writes about how it has made a difference in her life. The good doctor is on to something.

I am sharing this as a part of my commitment to the community. We are producing almost a hundred new stories per day as a group. While Dr. Yildiz does a beautiful job of curating this daily, we can’t possibly read all of them. However, If we could share our top five stories every week, we could highlight stories that we may have missed during the first run.

We could all become curators on #ILLUMINATION and lift each other up. I invite Sherry McGuinn Gurpreet Dhariwal Priyanka Srivastava Salam Khan Marilyn Flower Dr. Christine Bradstreet 🌴 Tom Byers Tim Maudlin George J. Ziogas Michelle Marie Warner Trista Ainsworth Darrin Atkins, and anyone else.

Maybe we can make this a regular feature and share our favorites on a Sunday or Monday.

I do not ask for claps for this; instead, I invite you to read these superb writers and clap for them. As such, I am going to forego promoting my other stories as I usually do at the end.

As always, thank you for reading and supporting each other.
