How To Overcome Failure and Self-Doubt
If you build it, they will come, but first, life might kick you in the teeth. Don’t let that hurt stop you from completing your mission.
When you finally decide to do the damn thing, you never imagine failure as the outcome. In fact, we live in a culture that tells us failure isn’t even an option.
That’s a lie because failure is an option.
Failure is so common that you would think we humans would be great at failing. Instead, we are great at being defensive, blaming other people, giving up, or never trying in the first place.
There is only one way to overcome failure: to keep going.
Whether you have been defeated by circumstance, competition, or your own limitations, you must keep going. If you give up, you will never get to the good stuff!
Feel the disappointment and hurt, don’t deflect those feelings. Feel it, and then get back to trying. Make an effort. Do the work. That is what builds the muscles of determination. Determination is how you gain mastery and confidence over time.
Failure happens to every single person, whether they face it or not. Some are so afraid that they would burn down the world instead of feeling hurt from failing.
Real success is achieved by those that learn to take responsibility for their personal shortcomings and decide to genuinely learn from their mistakes.
Overcoming a failure is hard work, but you are rewarded with such strength when you succeed after failure. When a person stops and gets stuck in defeat, they don’t get that reward. It feels UNBELIEVABLY bad even if you shove it down.
Success is a beautiful feeling when you know that you have earned it. It’s a reward worth pursuing, so don’t let life knock you down. Get back up. Do the work. That is how you will overcome failure and self-doubt every single time.
