How to not get ‘tricked’ by a salesman when you want to buy their products? So, you can save more money!
Here is the most paradox ‘trick’ that the salesman person used to promote their product: offer their best service by showing the lowest price.
Of course, this is the most effective way to attract consumers. Even though, the price is not as sweet as you get.
After you visit the store, then you realize that they show a different price on the menu. To get the best product, the price is very high. For the lowest price, you will get minimal quality.
As a customer, let me ask you:
Do you love to get ‘tricked’ by a salesman?
The way the salesman promotes their product is not wrong. It’s brilliant! That’s what salesman do as a job.
Even though I am tired get ‘tricked’ by many salesmen in every different store.
So, if you visit a store, or you go to the cashier to buy something, there are two things you should ask before you buy to avoid getting ‘tricked’ by them, especially when you don’t have enough money to buy them.
Ask for the ‘real’ price and understand what you will get
Actually, I don’t care whether it’s expensive or cheap. Because, no matter how expensive the product is, there are some benefits that I can get. But I hate getting ‘tricked’!
One day I came to a coffee shop.
“1 Cappuccino, please!” I asked.
“Okay, brother. Do you want more an extra shot? It can make your coffee more strong.” The cashier offers something.
“Good! I will take it.” I answered.
“Great. Now the total is $7” The cashier said.
“Wait, in the menu, cappuccino is $4.99,” I said.
“Yes, but you want your cappuccino with an extra shot.” The cashier said.
“But, there’s no option for an extra shot in the menu,” I said.
“That’s why I asked you before,” The cashier said.
In my deepest heart, I said: Oh shit!
So, it’s important to ask the ‘real’ price before you buy the product.
Ask for what is today’s SALE.
Do you believe that seller like to hide their sale on somewhere else?
What you see on the menu is the real price. It’s quite high because they are not on sale.
The way to find the secret price is to get updated on the internet or the banner promotion.
One day, I go to one of a burger store in a mall. I saw Big’s Deal which already includes a burger, french fries, and coke. The best is I can choose any kinds of burgers. I saw the display outside the store.
This is very interesting! I wanna buy it.
Then I got into the store, and take the queue.
I see the menu on the top-behind the cashier. There is no Big’s Deal!
I’m afraid that the promo has expired or something else. So I got straight to the point.
“Are u still selling the Big’s Deal package?” I asked.
“Yes, we are. Which one do you want?” The cashier said.
“Ohh, Cheeseburgers, please.” I answered.
Then, ”Hmm, I wonder why the Big’s Deal isn’t on the menu there?” I asked.
The cashier said : “Yes, the Big’s Deal banner promotion is only put at the outside.”
LOL. Want to save your money? Save the promotion banner!
Conclusion
Even if you, as a customer, want to ask questions like that, do it politely. I’m sure the salesman feel offended if customer annoys them. It’s important to maintain good communication between customer and seller.
You can ask all these questions when you have direct contact with the seller or salesman. You can’t do these with a robot cashier.
For salesmen whose reading this, please don’t take it personally. Keep ‘tricking’ customers. Keep doing your job to get lots of customers. Even though customers want to save your money, you deserve to get a lot of money from them.
